It was said on the news here today that the discounts will probably last through New Years so I don't plan on rushing out shopping. I do need a gallon of milk but I doubt that it will be on sale!!!

Now you see if you had taken $10.07 the exact amount you would have never had that problem.

Well, it's ALL YOUR fault!!! I go to Wal~Mart with the intention of buying a #3.19 gallon of Milk & a $6.88 bag of cat food. Don't you know when the total came up on the cash register it was $77.64. Please do NOT ever suggest that I go spend money again!!! (SCREAMs)

I hate shopping at the best of times my friend, and sales is no different, I am just not interested, unless there is something I really really want then I won't go out, I prefer to have both Christmas Day and Boxing Day at home. Unless you really want something, buying for the sake of it is not really saving is it. There will always be sales and with the economic climate the way it is, sales will be ongoing! Happy holidays my friend.

We have Boxing Day in Canada, too. It's called "Boxing" day because in days past, the haves would "box up" their old stuff and put it out for the have-nots. This would also include boxing up the Christmas meal leftovers for the servants to take home.
When I lived in Vancouver, (18 yrs ago) it was very common to see bags of clothes and toys, etc. out in the alleys for whoever wanted them.

I have watched the crazy Christmas Sales in the T.V. The people are flocking into the shopping malls to grab their favourite products at lowest price of the year. Now I no longer do it because we don't have much Christmas Sales over here. However, I did join the fun when I was in Oregon during the 2002 Christmas sales. I even got a few 100% free rebate items, ie. CD-R, web-cam, pen-drive and etc.

You are most welcome! However, I recall back that, I didn't get all of my rebat. Some I think might be delayed or missing . I don't know about the real cause, but as long as I got back 80% of my money, I am still enjoying the benefit of the holiday sales. Hope you will find better offer in the coming new year sales!

I'm not a big fan of holiday shopping, especially the craze and the human traffic but I think I might check out a couple of stores later. If I don't find anything soon,I'll go home. Today is the payday so we might as well try our luck:D

I really hate shopping, when I want to buy something I already know what I want and all I want to do is go right into the store and pick it up and get out as soon as humanly possibly. I see online all the stores have a lot of good sales though. If you go I hope you get a good deal.

I will try to find the best deal but paying gas and electricity bills seems like a sounder idea.

I know, money is tight for everyone these days. I saw on the news this morning how the stores did not do as well as expected so they are offering a lot of sales today to try and make up for their losses.

Actually, I am not a shopper. My checkbook is safe from any abuse. I would rather stay away from stores especially right after Christmas. We were gone yesterday afternoon and evening but not shopping. Today we are having nasty weather, live in the midwest, and would prefer to stay home until the tornado warnings have lifted.
Do you take advantage of any after Christmas sales?

No, not me, I hate shopping. When I need something I run right in, get it and run out as quick as humanly possible.

I'm afraid that I don't enjoy the after Christmas sales. I would enjoy the deep discounts, but I absolutely cannot handle the crowds! Also, my checkbook balance says to me very loudly, "No, you cannnot go shopping!" Ha! I envy those who are brave enough to fight the crowds and shop for the bargains that are there for the taking. It would be great to get discounted items and put them back for next year's gifts! Or, for upcoming birthdays and other special occassions.

Actually, I'm going to my cousin's place today to do our little Christmas get-together, but even if I weren't I doubt I'd be taking advantage of the "after Christmas sales". I mean, 75% off stuff I don't need or want is still too much to pay.
Are you going shopping today?

Well, as it turns out, I'm not going to my cousin's afterall... she just phoned and said it was snowing like crazy where she and our aunt live (Toronto), and our aunt doesn't want to drive in it. It's still clear here in Hamilton. So our get-together has been postponed until tomorrow (Saturday). Sigh. And I washed my hair for nothing!

This would be a good time to pick up something because of the discounts - that is (like you said) if you have the money, so many people are strapped these days. Hope 2009 will bring some positive changes.

Hi Howard: If I had some $$money$$ I might be tempted to face the crowds but I never have the extra cash before Christmas or afterwards, however I did have to go to Wallyworld yesterday to pick up some prescriptions for myself and my Dad, GOOD GRIEF!
That place was just CRAZY! Just Crazy!! I wish I had gotten my bread first, and then went to the Pharmacy, I could've checked out there but stupid me got in line
cause I wanted to talk to my friend ( the clerk) and I waited in that line for 40 minutes I kid you not, three ladies ahead of me, the one had problems with her items
not ringing up right and you know she had that cart so stuffed with crap! aka Sales!
The other lines were just as long but they were moving, I had a massive headache by the time I got out of there; I wish I had just stayed home; LOL!
Did you venture out??

A lot of people shop for Christmas decorations right after Christmas, the prices are usually reduced to half price so your ready for next year like you said. Have a great day my friend.

well first of all
i don't celebrate chrismas because i'm not a cocacolien so i can't celebrate holy cocacola day, and basically i do give gifts from time to time to my friends and to relatives and i don't need to wait for one special day to offer something......

Well first of all if you don't celebrate Christmas then I guess your not expected to buy anyone a gift, so you can buy your gifts for people on their birthdays, so you don't have to wait for one special day to offer something but we are not talking about giving gifts here, we are talking about "sales". After Christmas Sales doesn't not mean that the only things on sale are Christmas items, everything is on sale.

Sadly, I can't go out shopping even though there are huge discounts out there... Why? I don't have enough money anymore! LoL! Nooooooooooo! I spent it all for a new computer unit. Haha. I never thought I'd be upgrading soon, I couldn't resist temptation because I had the money. hehe.

Hi there, I probably will go shopping, but I am not going to go all out as I find after Xmas shopping a bit exhausting to be honest. I will be looking for the things that I do actually need rather than buying a load of random things just because they are on special offer - I can't afford it anyway!

It can be very exhausting with the crowds in some stores. Thanks for your response.
