I'm entering uni soon and is wondering which part time should I commit my spare time on..care to share some ideas. Thought of giving tution, however parents are favouring female tutors instead of male? Sad. Though I could understand that female might be more patience and mild-tempered, but should guys be given a chance also. Anyway, do share your own experience here. Regards

i don't think so . i think that male tutors are in demand too. don't think that just because you are male that you will find it hard to find some students who will want of your service. i guess that there are some areas that men are good in like in engineering subjects than women or most women. so i think that as long as you are very well knowledge and that you can teach well that you will surely find someone you can teach .

Ya..thats very true for you to say that...its the knowledge that counts not the gender. Well, I think the only barrier parents have is when their child happens to be a girl. Imagine all the wild thoughts they might have when their kid is with a stranger..lol. Alright, I wont blame them for that. It is only natural for the parents to protect their kids. Seems like I have to try harder to land in a tutoring job. One thing funny is that I don't yet understand why parents of a male kid would want a female tutor as well..lol...who couldnt they just spare a thought for male wanting to have a career in tutoring job..sad. Okay, its another of their concern I know. They want a more gentle and feminine tutor so that their kid would be far more interested in the subjects..yea? Thought of starting in a tuition centre, tutoring a whole class. Hmm...but after giving some thoughts about it..I gave up on the idea. Its like the pay is the same yet you have to divert your attention to many at one time. I could imagine if there happened to be one spoilt brat...lol..its doom for the class. On the other hand, if its a one to one tuition, I could at least concentrate on teaching one person and focusing on all his weaknesses...tell me that you agree..lol.

which kind of part-time job should you take? It just depends on your interest and your job direction of development. You can log in the net which provides the students to teach. You can also find other jobs, for example, giving out booklet, working for the exhibitions, sales etc. When you're in the school, it's vital to enter into the society and learn how to communicate with different people. Then confirm your job direction. Thus, you'll have a brilliant future in your job career.

Yup, I agree that any job might seems beneficial to students wanting to gain experience. For my case, salary wise would be my top most priority since I would be responsible for paying my own school fees. Thus far, I think that tutoring is still the most well paying job that a student can get.
