having trouble deleting itunes from my computer.

It's not letting me delete itunes from my computer.I have tryed to call Dell and Apple . I got an itouch and I needed to download 8.0 version of itunes before I can restore my itouch. Long story short. I'm trying to delete itunes and an error message is coming up which isn't allowing me to delete it. Dell said that It was currupted and I'm getting pissed because this is driving me nuts. All I want to do is delete itunes so I can re download another version of it. thats all ! If I reformat my computer will that help or make it worse ? Idk , im just trying to get this solved..
