Not only his birth date, whether he existed or not is also a big qustion. We have absolutely no evidence regarding his evidence except the four gospels which are so poorly written, even God would run away if he reads them.
As for celebrating christmas, that is not a big deal. People also believe in God, even though there is no proof of his existence.

Well, the church has decided a date to celebrate the birth of Jesus. At the time there was no way of knowing when He was born, but the church wanted to give people something GOOD and Christian to celebrate during the winter solstice instead of celebrating a pagan holiday. I don't know if it is right or not, honestly I wish that they wouldn't have done that, but it's already been done and there is nothing wrong with Celebrating Jesus' birth any day of the year. There are several other topics about this with some good information if you'd like to learn more.
Anyway, I see that you're from Morocco. I have family in Fez. Slowly learning the Moroccan dialect of Arabic.
Welcome to Mylot, labess?

One thing I know, it is definitely not December 25. Christ's exact birthdate has been an issue among scholars, and although no one can definitely give an exact day, more and more proofs are available showing that Christmas day is not the day he was born.
with the presence of shepherds herding their flocks and other details, more people that it is closer to spring rather than winter, probably around april or may. December 25 th was really a pagan's god day, that was incorporated into Christianity. Oh well..i'm not religion expert..so my responses are pretty much hearsay..LOL

I don't the exact date of Jesus' birthday will ever be known. Most scholars have narrowed the time frame as either early spring or late summer. In fact the early Christians did not celebrate Jesus' birth. What was the most holy day was the day of His resurection - Easter, and I don't think that they even know exactly when that was.
After Constantine declared that Christianity would be the state religion for the Roman Empire, the Roman Catholic Church began to overlay Christian beliefs onto pagan and other local holidays and celebrations. Since a lot of people were celebrating the winter soltice as the rebirth of the sun god, Mythra, or celebrating Saturnalia, the church overlayed the birth of Jesus onto the festivities and claimed the day as their own. And Christians have been celebrating Christmas in one form or another for over 1000 years now.
So, I celebrate Christmas, partly out of tradition, for it is the season that is to remind us all that we are each other's keepers. We are to be kind to the less fortunate and help the poor. But mainly I celebrate the holidays in the spirit of Saint Nicholas, the bishop that added to the celebrations by giving gifts to the children. I have six grandchildren, ages 15 to 2, and they really make the season worth celebrating.

From what i have heard December 25th was originally a pagan holiday but when the Roman Empire declared Christianity to be the state religion it was changed to represent the birth of Christ. I believe this was one of the ways Christianity was molded with the pagan religions of that time. I actually just found this out a little while ago. For most of my life i had just figured that December 25th was the birth of Christ.
I also think that December 25th is a day where we can celebrate peace on earth. For me personally, it is a chance to show my love for the son of God who came to save me by taking the being of a human. Now if i wasn't such a hypocrite i would make the attempt to celebrate christmas everyday for followers of Christ are called to be Christ-Like which i believe is what is symbolized in the Christmas spirit.
