I missed the movie "Twilight" and I am contemplating on buying a DVD (though a pirated copy and illegal at that!). I would like to know however, how different it is from other vampire-themed movies? what makes the movie click? i heard the lead actor is a real looker. is the movie worth it or was it only because of the charms of the actor? can anyone just send me an idea? or perhaps tickle my interest a bit?

I haven't seen it yet am just now reading the books and I'm hooked. I started book 2 one day and finished the second and had to go right out and get book 3 and 4. I do want to see the movie but I want to get th books read first because the movies are never like the books. When it comes out in the stores I will probably buy it as well. I collect vampire books and movies.

there was just not to long ago on HBO a series called trueblood was about vamps and shape shifters as well was good. It suppose to start back up in the summer of 2009 and I can't wait. I have always liked vamp stuff even when I was younger. Horror flicks and things like that. My husband says I'm strange...lol

wow! how come i've not seen the book here yet? hmmmm... i might do that as well if given the chance. and you are right, sometimes the movie adaptation is entirely different from that in the book. perhaps, for cinematic art? just look at the movie they made of X-men. I mean, i've been a colletor of the X- series for almost 3 decades now and the movie is a far cry from the real start of the X-men. (oh, did you know there were actually 3 Xs? you have x-men, x-factor, and x-force. too bad they didn't touch on that. and they didn't even bother to include scott summer's brother).and boy! you do collect vampire books and movies, huh?

Well, unlike most common vampire flicks that are usually either action or horror-filled, Twilight is more of a love story than anything else. In fact, if you are looking to get scared or to be thrilled with special effects, this is not the movie for you. It's pretty low-budge, relying more on the storyline and of course, that the book series come with its own set of fans.
It's a simple story of a love affair between a teenage girl and a vampire and the struggles they have in their relationship. It's pretty much teeny-bopper type, but I have to admit, I enjoyed watching it. The kid who plays Edward Cullen definitely fits the vampire look, good looking in a spooky way.
Overall, it's nothing deep or profound, just a pleasant movie to watch for two hours, so if you have time to spare, I don't think it will hurt to watch it.
