Indian Classical has evolved over the years and has different forms such as Hindusthani, Carnatic, Bawl, and others. Whatever be the genre, Indian Classical music is closely linked with Spirituality and one's quest to seek God. And as per Indian Mythology, nothing pleases God more than soulful singing.

I am not sure about the mythological connection of music. What I do know as a musician is that I am at peace with music. It releases my stress, it helps me rejuvenate myself. It takes me to a different plane emotionally. And isn't that supposed to be what divine intervention does? To me, music that soothes and calms is divine. Indian classical music, folk music, devotional music all have this calming, soothing effect. Of course for it to be calming and soothing, music needs to touch you deep down, whatever its forms. So, I wouldnt go about putting Indian music on a pedestal and implying in the bargain that it is superior to other forms of music. What I will say instead is that Indian classical music touches ME and that is what matters, isn't it?
