Hey, I have an ASUS laptop that is actually doing quite well with only 1GB RAM! I bought this laptop in January of 2008 and so far it is an excellent computer. In terms of how it is built, I would have to say that it is build quite solid comparing to some other laptops I have seen. The only thing that I don't like about it is the design. Truly the design isn't all that bad comparing with most laptops, it is just that when I compare my laptop to most of the HP's and Dell XPS's out their, my laptop doesn't actually look that good. Oh sure, it still has the nice silver top with the nice metal writing on the laptop but it only lacks ONE thing. It doesn't have any glossyness on it except for the screen. The laptops that come out these days even have their keyboard glossy. Apart from that, my ASUS runs Vista quite well with only 1GB RAM!

I have an HP COMPAQ Presario laptop. Well, it's specs are good from the processor, the RAM, the disk space, it also has a light scribe DVD drive and very loud speakers. What I don't like in my laptop though is you cannot reformat it without inserting a SATA driver to the cd and the fact that it was pre-installed in Vista that is why when I reformatted my laptop to XP, I cannot use my Wireless LAN card. But I was able to manage my laptop very well and its performance is very good but I have to stick with Vista though.

hi, On laptops; I have a mac book 2.4, dell inspiron 1420, acer 5570, msi s262, msi wind, asus eee 701, and thinkpad z60m There were some laptops that i've shelved, but still in working condition. My older laptops are thinkpad 240 (I really like this one, because of its 10 inch screen, and really solid keyboard), the oldest laptop is a thinkpad 560 (still runs) on desktops; there's a mac mini, an assembled PC, and a couple of older assembled PCs which I use for various functions, like IPCop firewall, iSCSI server, and version control. I like the assembled PC, because of the flexibility you can have when assembling them, you can pick and choose which part goes into it (which almost always, turns out to be more expensive than packaged PCs). But I do like the mac mini nowadays, it has very small footprint on my desk, and has been very reliable so far. At first I thought it won't be able to handle my programming needs, but to my surprise, it is handling my needs pretty well. I am running eclipse 3.2, tomcat 6.x, MySQL 5.x, and a couple of other tools -- turbogears and RoR development are a breeze to do in the Mac. Thanks, happy lottin.

I have Compaq laptop that I bought 3 years ago. It is wonderful machine and I have not had any problem with it. I use it roughly and a lot but I must say I am a proud owner of my laptop.
