Will your work get in the way of having a lasting relationship

i've worked with my partner basically all of our time together, i don't let him try and muck around. keeping things professional. on the other hand, if you work with other people it is better not to mix in friendships/social. then if something happens work wise eg. someone get fired. you don't lose a friendship. like i don't have anything to do with my boss, as such. even thou our kids go to the to the same school, we don't car pool, but they are there if i want to have a chat. i get lost on a day off, i'm usually workng 7 days. 6days at my normal job then 1 day at my inlaws, plus also helping out at my parents.
