It may be tempting to us the money, but I don't think that's the right thing to do. Just think if YOU were the one who lost your wallet... would you be upset if you never got it back, or eventually got it back but your money was gone? I know I would!
Losing a wallet (or purse) is a tough thing... besides losing any cash you may have had, it takes time and sometimes even money to cancel/reissue credit cards, put 'stop-pays' on checks, get a new drivers license, etc...
If at all possible, you should return the wallet to the owner. If there's no ID and you don't know who it belongs to, you could turn it into the local police station.
Honesty is the best policy!!!!

if there is a identification of that wallet the best thing you do is to contact him/her for we don't know how important that money for him/her, maybe they are longing that money until now and if you will be the one to experience of hat person do have now.
Sometimes we say that we blame them for they never check their wallet for being careless but it is not we want to happen for it is an accident.

is there any form of identification in there?
besides cash, are there any credit cards or anything of importance (besides the cash)?
If there isn't any of those, then you might want to keep the money. Finder's keepers.
BUT if there are credit cards or any form of identification it'll be best to report it and hand it over to the police. =)
