Is not faith blind?

Since faith is based on that which has never been proved, I feel that faith is blind.
It would not matter if people only had faith so that they feel comforted or inspired by it, but the sad thing is that people also use their faith to dominate others, to mock at others and faith, on many occassions does nothing but boost the ego.

Faith is not always blind. Blindness, in my opinion, is not inherent in faith--though it is too often brought there by many of its practitioners. There are all sorts of variation on faith, and it isn't always religions. Many folks have faith in the inherent goodness (or wickedness) of humanity. Others have faith in science or money. Many scientists, for example, are inspired to new discoveries because of their faith in the laws of science. Moreover, most of us have faith in our parents or our children. Faith is not the problem. The practitioners of faith are the source of the problem.

I agree about the last sentence but the one before it is not true. Faith is a problem because it's a terrible basis for making decisions. We should be encouraged to make decisions based on evidence and logic, not on faith.

Faith is inherited. With few exception everybody's relegion is by birth. We follow our parents specially father's relegion. Most of the people are blind of his or her relegion. In my opinion none should be sealed in one relegion. All religions have good and bad sides.Which I think is good I should follow that. This good teaching may not be in my religion which I'm inherited.Similarly bad things should be avoided.

In a way, faith is blind. And it is true that some use their faith to dominate others and conquer. But it is people driven by greed and arrogance who dominate, conquer, and commit atrocities in the name. They only use their faith as a campaign medium to rouse others to fight for them. The roots of all evil, thus, are greed and arrogance, not religion, God, or money. Some people use faith to mock others just as some people use their lack of faith to do the same. It is people and their arrogance and greed that drive other people to ruin and not faith, religion, God, or even money.

Belief is something that can not be proven or denied in a scintific basis. That's what makes it a belief.I don't think it is blind even though i m a nonbeliever. But sure i have my own beliefs and ideas towards life and everything.
And you will never know the way things are proven unless you are a scientist because we ordinary people are always using science as a supportive means as well. How many of us really have an idea about physics, chemistry, medicine or any other branch of science? How many of us really attended and watched an experiment? So how can we argue that something is proven or not with our lacking, inadequate scientific knowledge as ordinary people
Best wishes
