Do you shred the papers that are related to your name or any information that would lead to you, or do you just dispose your receipts and other papers in the original form. Recently I bought a shredder and started shredding everything that has information on me, my family or anything business related. I know it might be overreacting, but I think it's better than let someone abuse your info. Even if it happens once a hundred years.

You can never be too careful.
I am also considering getting a shredder as well. With more and more past bills to get rid of as the years go by, I think that would be a good investment.
Besides, I am growing too big a thumb muscle with my current usage of the scissors to cut up my bills.

I do not but my husband shreds everything that comes in except personal mail. He is getting obsessive about it. I think bills are fine and things like that, but it is easy to get carried away.

I don't use a shredder. In fact I don't use many of the gadgets that progress has given us. I rip things up just as I always have done, not somuch for the sake of privacy but for space. Torn up paper takes up less space than if I leave it intact and crumple it.

i dont have a shredder but i cut or rip the papers into pieces. shredders cost too much. i can cut them better than the shredder.
