Okay I am tired of it!The amount of religious discussions during the past few days were all centered ( around 90% ) bashing each others religions and proving that only respective religions God is true...
It just shows how tolerant we really are...Come on except it...the discussions and the comments and responses there shows that 90% of the population here is basically fanatic...Want to slang my religion? Its Hinduism and you are independent to say whatever you feel like...I wont be fighting..promise!
Have a nice day!

Hello, arthi_88.
This is a common thing between people. You should expect this to happen. Since God cannot defend itself, people feel in the duty to come in here and defend him. What is the big deal if I say that your religion sucks (I don't think it sucks, just saying)? Why do you have to defend it? Because you are afraid. Yes, just because you are afraid. You are afraid of me being correct. You will only feel safe if I do agree that your religion is true and that your God is unique. Otherwise, your inner self will be wondering why cannot I see that your religion is true... And this will give you some feeling that will just go directly against your faith. Let me explain better. When somebody shows and argues that your religion is not true, your unconscious will see that the person who is arguing may be correct. And you will feel like if your God was threatened. What if the other person is right?
There is only one way to pass through this obstacle: proving. Proving that your God is true, you will feel safe, because then nobody will have a way to doubt. I might be pretty wrong in this. In fact, I believe I am.
Perhaps people are just arguing because they need to defend themselves. I studied once something about human minds, that said that, if I attack you verbally straightly, you will defend yourself as a natural reaction. Which means that, if I say that your God is false, you will counter. Perhaps that is what it is happening: natural self defense reactions.
Respectfully,
Munhozmib.

I understand but facts and proofs can be stated in a respectful manner...If somebody bashes my God no problem...Case God still remains who he is..Mine and his will be same just different names so he is actually insulting his god also...Civilized defending can also be done...Have a nice day!

That may sound alright for you, and I also understand that we can all talk peacefully about religion. But there are people who live only for their Gods. They do not live for themselves, but only for their God. When you say that it doesn't exist, I guess it is like if you were calling them stupid. I don't know exactly, but they can't control themselves.

I have nothing against any religion at all so you won't get an argument from me here. I do know that these types of discussions quite often get pretty heated up though. I don't mind a good debate but when it starts getting downright rude then it is out of hand. Discussions on homosexuality or abortion are also famous for bringing out one's intolerance.

I do not mind having a civilised religious discussions where we exchange view point and opinions. What I am disappointed with are over-zealous people who want other people to submit to their beliefs, ideas, and opinions. In the past I did try to respond to several discussions. The reaction was not nice even though I gave only my opinions and did noy criticise anyone. I can play the same game, citing events and statistics which have been kept away from public view, and other references but I did not think it would solve anything. So currrently I am staying away from religious discussions even though they started with innocent sentences, or they have incorrect facts (distorted, twisted, presented not as a whole).
all the best,
rosdimy

Blah, I'm not so happy with how snippy people are in that interest either. But I can say that I don't do that, at least I don't think I do. I don't have a religion, but I'm not going to tell anyone that God does not exist or that their Gods do not exist. I do make comments about other people's religions, but I don't tell them not to believe it. I ask questions, and I'm not trying to ever insult anyone with them, but people get defensive about it.

Even I have responded to few discussions there and at times gave answers when people asked something whose answer was known to me or when there was a question from or on my religion...But I have never insulted anybody's religion or personal faith..Too much of defensiveness just shows how insecure we really are!

Hi arthi_88,you are right there is too much bashing going on and our religion being a very compassionate one is easily targetted. With due respect to all religions,i would like to say that of the three religions that existed since pre-historic times sanatan dharma(hinduism) has still survived with all such bashings, islamic onslaughts on our country since medieval times, silent conversions going in various parts of the country in the name of social service.but being the oldest religion in the world which has enlightened many its not easy to degrade our religion.our religion has stood the tough times with all the might.also am very proud to say that my religion is the only religion which teaches us to respect all other religions.

I respect your love an respect but Hinduism is not a religion but a way of life so that's why its peaceful...I respect every religion but some people here in myLot have made an agenda to insult other religions not only Hinduism but Islam, Christianity and others.....Every body is at fault...We should respect every religion and accept the fact as and whenever stated...Have a nice day!

To be honest, I don't care what religion someone is as long as they aren't going anything bad in the name of their religion like killing people, etc. I'm a witch but some people seem to think that I sacrifice animals and pray to Satin. Far from it really, I love animals and although I believe in the devil, I pray to Greek gods.
All religions are different, they all think they are the better ones when really, we are all the same in ways. We all believe in a god that we have special ways of praying to, we have buildings to pray in, we believe the god (or dogs) will keep us and our families safe, we do work in the gods name and loads of other stuff I can't think of right now.
