What do you think about exit polls?

Exit polls are based on what people tell you after they finish voting. Do you think this provides good information? Were you asked questions after you voted?

I think exit polls should be illegal. People watching them think they are actually accurate and many people don't take the time to vote because they already figure the election has been won.

You are right about people wanting to run with the early numbers. In Ohio, they were calling the governor when they had 1% of the votes in. I don't get it. Thanks for your comment.

exit polls very often don't give us the true picture. very often these polls can ruin the chances of a candidate. there have been many instances of exit polls being wrong. should they be banned? yes can they be banned? no why? because exit polls are a result of the inquistive nature of man. so long as humans are there, there will be exit polls in one form or the other

Good point. People do not like to wait to open a present. Likewise, people do not like to wait for the result of an election. Therefore they are willing to accept questionable data sooner, even if it could be wrong. Thanks for your response.
