Is crying a sign of weakness?

Hi again, bomb. I guess we cry at our weakest points or times in life. For me,yes crying is a sign of weakness BUT it doesn't make you less of a person, and it doesn't define you, or label you as weak. It's just part of being human. Jesus also cried but could we say that after dying for our sake, he was weak because he cried? I also get irritated when somebody calls a guy 'gay' if he is caught crying. God gave as lacrimal/tear ducts for a purpose. Some are just so good at stereotyping and discriminating people.

There are more types of crying... I once read a saying: "A woman's tears is the best example of hydraulic power". So people (not necessairly but mostly women) can cry with a certain purpose, to get something by emotional blackmail, if I can say that . Some people are very emotional and they cry a lot, but it's not necessarily a sign of weakness. In fact I think crying once in a while helps relieving of stress or pressure. I think crying it's a sign of weakness when someone makes a habit of crying in front of other people.

no crying isnt a sign of weakness if anything its a sign of strenght. if you cry it is because you alow yourself to deal with your issues instead lf being a coward and hidding from them. It takes courage sometimes to face issues which can lead to crying.. so no its not a weakness at all, in my view.

I believe it is not weakness sign! in fact crying is a way to show how strong that you are feeling with your principles of life, and you defend it while something tryin to break it, that's why people cryin, but in another situation cryin can show a happiness too I hopes you are crying for the happiness Have a nice day

Nope! I don’t think it’s a sign of weakness. I know bombshell, cry actually is a best way to shake away our sadness, blue mood and let us to feel at ease, relaxed and easy again. I don’t there will be anyone who has never ever cried after he has grown up. Of course one usually will cry when he is born. However every man, no matter he is a male or a female, a young kid or an adult, he is a hero or a coward he has the right to give vent to his sorrow by crying loudly in the public or quietly in somewhere that no one discovered. Since we are given the privilege to cry so we have make full use of it we needed lol ... I would cry whenever I feel extremely unhappy to get rid of my sadness. Of course I would cry only in the bathroom or in any dark corner for I don’t want to “share” this undesirable thing with my loved ones and to make them unhappy as well. Happy posting and take care.

Crying and tears are a sign that show human emotion. The fact that a person cries does not make him or her weak. Everybody has his difficult moments in life. It is not a sign of weakness but a sign that you are a human being when you cry. We are not robots after all.

i to can cry easily sometimes but i have been told im a strong person.. i think its often mistaken as a sign of weakness but i think a lot of it depends on what your crying about.. if you are crying about like something stupid all the time like spilling something that doesnt matter.. like it wont stain or anything then i think that could be a weakness thing unless its one of those times where you have been holding it in for so long that something small sets you over the edge

Hi there. No, I don't think crying is a sign of weakness. I, too, am a person who people perceive as strong in general but end up crying quite easily. There are times when I find it quite annoying, this habit of mine, but I guess it is better, healthier to allow yourself to cry once in a while than keep everything bottled up until you burst. Catharsis, I think, is the word for it.

I'm not so sure myself. I'd also like to think that I'm a strong person but I also am easy to cry. Most of the time when I'm overcome with strong emotions then I'd refrain from talking because if I did then I'm sure that I'd cry. I guess it depends on how people define "strength" :) Thanks for the comment on my discussion!

Strong person don't cry.

A person's strength has many facets just like our tears. We sometimes become sensitive to things no matter how strong we may feel. I consider myself strong others call me tough in some aspect but I am also very sensitive when it comes to my family and especially to my kids. I do easily cry sometimes oh well, I guess it's just the moody side of me. I would always want to show that I am tough because I don't want people to abuse if I show them that I am kind.

i guess on some situations or depending on the person itself..if we are talking about the gender here then male who cry a lot means something to me..crying can be a sign of weakness if its frequently done or making it a habit just to get something(i guess its another story here ..sorry)but in my opinion if i do cry it means im weak or something..i don't want to be seen crying i guess...

According to me crying is not a sign of weakness.Its just a way of showing up your feelings.I do cry sometimes but that doesn't mean that I am a weak person because I am not.

No, crying is not a sign of weakness. It's sometimes considered a sign of a release. Our bodies need that release at times.

I do not think that crying is a sign of weakness at all. Sometimes it's the only thing you can do and often times you feel so much better afterwards.

I don't think it's a sign of weakness at all. Sometimes it's a way of venting or just expressing sadness. Everyone crys and if they don't,they need to.I know when I have cried in the past,it's given me a certain amount of relief.I don't cry often but when I do..it's a good one.

hello! no absolutely not! see everybody cry once in a while. for example: if someone is rich, strong person and have everything he wants; the person life is set. but he will cry because he probably don't have any true friends to share his thoughts or talk to anyone. so this is definitely not a weakness.
