I was so excited, I looked of the name of the Company an they said I was a winner along with 4 other people, I google it and guess what it was a scam! I should of known. they had all the imformation telling to put in my name Address Phone. I knew it was a Scam but I was hoping it wasn't have you ever won something off the Internet? And they told you you won something should you paid attention to it or put it in your Spam. It seemed to good to be true I know it was. I google it and it told me it was a Scam, all you have to do is put in the Persons name or address of the company. By the way I hope everyone Have a happy New Year and a Safe and Healthy one!

If I have ever won something on the internet, I have missed out on it, due to my lack of curiosity. If I do not recognize and email, I either erase it or junk it. I do not care how good it looks. I am just chicken that way. There have been a few times when I have had to go back through my trash or junk, but I would rather do that, than to get stuck with a virus or something.
I believe that it was the Reader's Digest magazine where I read that the scammers will listen to the news and see what is going on and build a scam around it to lure people in. I remember getting an email during the time that Barack Obama was metting with President Bush. It said that Bush had just shot Obama. My heart dropped for a moment, then I realized that it was a ploy to get me to panic and open the email, so I junked it. The money winning ones are a dime a dozen right now. I have gotten some in the mail recently that I wished were real.

So Rozie what did you do about it? Do you live close to Corvina where the Guy dressed up in a Santa Claus suit and when on a shotting spree? I know you live in Ca.

lol sorry about that but you are not the first and you wont be the last .i similarly won millions of dollars via some lottery of the sort. Often they use the names of reputable companies like Microsoft and Shell claiming they are the ones who are supporting the lottery .When you need to get suspicious is when they say you should some money but nothing that will affect your winning ,maybe a 100 dollars as shipping or handing or courier or processing fee in order to claim your million. I have always believed that if I won million why don’t you take your fee from it and send the rest .Many persons however often feel that paying 100 dollars is miniscule compared to the amount they will win and so they willingly do it and that is when they get scammed.

Yes, they can be pretty tricky. It just seem to good to be true. Now I am lucky winng money in the Lottery but never on the Internet. I don't think anyone wins anything on the Internet.

I f you have not participated in a lottery or any other scheme and you have received a notificaiton letter out of the blues that you have won something that common sense tells you that it is a scam. There is no need fo further inquiries. Just deleted the email or throw the notification letter in the bin.

I have never won anything in my entire life - online or not! I used to do the Publisher Clearing house and all those that would come in the mail - sign up for drawings at the mall, put my name in the hat and you name it I did it, but not a single win ever. I don't even bother any more and especially not on line.
However, since it appears (on commercials) that only older folks ever win the Publishers Clearing house and I am getting to be that "older" age, maybe I will start entering that one again!

I get emails like this everyday. Most of them are just a scam to get you to sign up for a bunch of stuff. I don't know what would happen if I ever won. I'd probably end up deleting the email. lol

I get those all of the time, you name it...it's been in my inbox lol. In between those ones that seem to come from reputable companies (like Mircosoft) etc, I also get those ones that say I inherited a few million somewhere in Nigeria lol. I get about 4 or 5 of those a day too. If it was true I'd be a multi-ba-jillionaire hahaha. I think one good rule of thumb is that if you haven't entered a contest specifically online, then it's definitely a scam. And if you enter contests OFFLINE, like at the fair or something, never give your email address. In this day and age where every company, good or bad, sells their lists of names and email addresses, everybody is vulnerable to this kind of phising scam. Geez, I even got one the other day saying it was from the sercret service saying to send them $500 bucks to get this money that has been shipped from overseas!
I delete all of that stuff. They take advantage of the fact that our economy is so bad a lot of folks are somewhat desperate for money, and I think we'll see a whole lot more of this kind of thing. Isn't it just terrible that the unscrupulous would try and target the people who are low on bucks and could use more...gee whiz, at least Robin Hood took from the rich to give TO the poor (and not the other way around) lol. I hope you have a happy and healthy New Year too :-)

Hi! I don't know what email box (Yahoo, Hotmail, etc) you get your messages from myLot in, but if you take the mylot email address and put it into your address book, they should always be delivered into your in box. Open up the address book in your email program and add this address and it should take care of it :-) enter their email address below because it's where their email notifications come from:

That is a real shame, it is not fair that these people pull these scams on the unsuspecting people. I have had a few of these things but I never pay any attention to them, I just trash them so even if I had really won I would never know because I trashed it!!

Hey Marcia, I get thoughs all the time, mine come from overseas and they say I've won or inherited thousands of dollars so I send them my Phone number to call me and you know what they never call. I think it's a way for them to steal your identity. "Happy New Year"!

I am always a winner in spam, if i get all the reward that i receive on my scam box everyday than i would be able to feed my whole country too. Sometimes these messages seemed too real to be to fake, because of its standard procedure like email address, their office address and they also give out their numbers. when we dial those numbers we hear they service provider say that the number we are dialing does not exist. These days i don't read messages from people or company that i don't know and so am not sure how far these spam messages have been standardized.
