Hello dear mylotters,
It is not the first time that I have suffered from the uncomfortable side effects from using my cell phone. Today (December 28th, 2008), I feel very uncomfortable in the left ear. In fact, I have an ear-ache today in the left ear because I usually listen to calls using the left ear.
My left ear is still feeling painful right now when I am typing this discussion. Yesterday I received quite a few calls on the cell phone, which is the very reason that hurt my left ear today.
In the previous times, I felt very serious headaches and it spread from the temples of both sides of my head. Now I don't feel like using the cell phone of mine, which does not have a speaker. Signing.
I think that I will have to get a new one with a speaker some day so that I don't have to place it next to my ear when answering or making calls.
I have been wondering about the bad effects from using a cell phone to us, which damages our brain by its radiation and emission.
My cell phone is three years old, which was bought in the second half of 2005, when my previous one was stolen. I think that I need to upgrade mine for a better one with a speaker for the sake of safety and for the good of my health.
So have you ever had such a bad experience from using your cell phone, please?
Love from williamjisir

Hi WJS.....I hope you are felling better today...Well I have read about the ill effects of using cell phones, though I do not know how much of it is really true.It is said that its not safe to keep them in your pockets also for a long time.Fortunately I am not much of a cell phone addict and use it only sparingly while travelling,And at home I use the land phone more.So I have never had any problmes so far.But I do wish all people ,including you, will use the cell phone only when essential and also refrain from using them continously....
Today's youth is always hanging aroung glued to their mobiles all the time, and I disapprove strongly this attitude of theirs....

Hello Rose. I am now using the right ear to answer calls instead of the right one. I turn it off when I am enjoying my days off like today. Happy New Year to you, Rose.

I am sorry to know that. How did you ascertain that its because of cell phone. It could be because of cold too. But if you are sure that its because of your cell phone, then I would recommend you get a new one with speaker and use your speaker phone on. This way you won't have to put the cell near your ear. Sometimes when a call is prolonged for good about half an hour or more ,I do feel uncomfortable. But maybe its more of a psychological nature than a real one. As such I use headphones for the music player and I do actually feel scared of getting headaches and ear aches. I am controlling and trying to limit the usage.
Wish you a very happy and prosperous new year 2009.

I am sorry to know that you had suffered ear ached after using the cell phone for hours. I have experienced it before. I suppose it's caused by the pressure on our ear, instead of the radiation. Because radiation is having long term effect, not short term. I always switch the phone from left to right hand and vice versa, when I am making long hour call. By doing the change from side to side every 10 minutes or so, the ear pain won't be so severe.
I think it's a good time to change the cell phone now. There should be a lot of year-end sales going on by now. Actually why don't you buy the ear phone for your current phone? Or a blue tooth ear plug? So you won't have to spend more for the time being, while have your current problem solved temporarily.

Hello cheongyc. It is a good idea to get a cell phone with blue tooth. When I bought my Nokia 1100 cell phone, it was not given an earphone to match it. This is the very thing that I don't like because sometimes I would like to use the earphone while on the phone.
There are lots of different phones on sale. I will wait and see which is a better and cheaper one with good functions for me to use. Or if possible, I would like to find an earphone for my cell phone in use.
The pain is gone today completely. I am glad for that. Thank you so much for your nice advice. Have a great time, friend.

You are most welcome williamjisir. It's good that your pain is gone now. Therefore, you should look for solution as soon as possible. I forgot to mention about another temporary solution, which is to cut short the phone conversation if possible. Using text messaging to convey the message is another alternative. I hope you can get your new phone or ear plug with blue tooth function soon, so you no longer need to worry about the ear pain.

Hi jisir, I feel so sorry to know that you have an ear-ache on your left ear recently. From your description I understand that you have suffered from the serious headaches several times. I hope you are feeling very much better now.
Yeah, the bad effect of the radiation of the cell phone probably might be one of the reasons that causing the headache. So far I don’t have any friends or people around suffering from using mobile phone, even the one who works in a stock investment company. He uses mobile phone quite a lot due to his daily work. Looking at the glared computer screen too often might be another reason that brings the headache.
Yeah, besides using a cell phone with speaker to avoid the radiation, anyway for the sake of your health, I think you have better to have a general physical checkup. To find out what is the true reason that causes the serious ache.
Take care and happy posting.

You are very much welcome jisir. I feel relieved to learn that you have been recovered from the ache on your left ear. Yeah, I know a wise and smart user like you, always knows well to protect his health from the bad effect casing by the cell phone while using it. I always try not to have longer chitchat on mobile phone to keep myself away from the so called dreadful radiation, and also for the sake of saving money. We usually have to spend 5 YMB or so, just for a short conversation. So we people here prefer to send SMS most of the time. Anyway the high cost of talk time on phone does save us from the bad effect of radiation.
Wow! I like 3G Mobile with more advanced technology and latest features and function as well! You are right, it’s wise for us to wait for some time until the price has dropped considerably so that we could get an ideal one with more economical cost. Take care and happy posting my dear friend.

Hello lkbooi. It is true that when something new comes to the market, the price is absolutely no cheap. A better solution to this is to wait for some time before the price drops to a certain price that is ideal and economical to us consumers who do not want to chase the new technology so closely. I will be waiting for that as well. Have a good day, dear friend.

Hello lkbooi. I thank you so much for your concern. I am glad to tell you that I was ok the next day and have been fine with my left ear. I have learned to be more cautious not to place the cell phone so close to the ear, whichever one I use.
These two days CCTV and Voice of China are talking about the 3G Mobile Phone service. I am getting interested in it for its great functions. I hope that the price will cheap. This kind of 3G mobile service is said to be the latest technology available in China. Take care, my dear friend.

Hi williamjisir! I am sorry to hear of the discomfort/pain in your left ear. I do hope that you have it checked with an ear specialist. I do have terrible headaches/migraines but I am not sure if it is because of my celphone. However, there are some reports that I have read in the internet that there are certain side effects in prolong use of celphones and it varies in different people. I guess, we just have to be careful from now on. Hope you will get well and do buy a new phone which has a speaker so you can avoid any further side effects my dear friend.
Happy New Year! Take care always..God Bless! lovelots..faith210

Hi William, sorry to hear that you're suffering the ear-ache.Hope you'll be getting better soonest.
In fact,on my side,I don't suffer much side effect of my cell phone, except the overheat of it in which case I kept chatting over the cell phone for a long time, say over half an hour something.Basiclly,I'm preferring to use the bluetooth instand of sticking the cell phone directly to my ears.I believe that will release you from the ear ache,haed-ache,which was mentioned in your post.
Therefore,I'd like to suggest that just buy a new cell phone with the function of bluetooth,I do believe you will after experiencing this today. It's quite a number of choice in China after all~you must know that clearly~lol
Good day my friend!~

I never have a cell, williamji
but I have read articles about it saying something about brain malfunction or something like that
Is there a doctor there that can confirm this to you? because if you are using it and not having health problems you should really ask him

I am so sorry to hear that. I wonder whether it has a relationship with the cellphone. Perhaps you can try to use an earphone and see whether it will change. I haven't experienced bad effects from my cellphone. Perhaps I am just lucky:)

HI williamjisir, I am sorry to hear about your earache. I hope you feel better soon. I have never had any side effects from using my cell phone however I have heard it is possible. If you use one with a speakerphone be carefull. Dont put in next to your ear with the speaker phone on because I heard of a lady who did and her cell phone exploded. pretty scarey.

I can't say that I have ever experienced anything in my ears from using my cell phone,
but then I don't use it much. I only put about 200 minutes a month on my cell phone
so I don't think that is much, compared to my daughter using hers for about 800 minutes
a month. So I think it might have something to do with how much it is used, to hurt.
I don't know if there is any real proof that cell phones actually have any health
affects but there has been some talks about it and they are still testing them to
see if there is anything to worry about. But I know if my ears were hurting because of
my cell phone I would certainly quit using it so much. I think you need to think about
how and why it would hurt your ears. I would think about talking about it with my
doctor if it were me.
Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend,
Have a good mylotting day, Chris

I have not suffered such side effects from cell phone. Don't use phone directly While making call. U can either use head set or wireless blue tooth device. By doing so there are lot of changes of avoiding your side effects. Moreover if you are comfortable with phone having loud speaker option you can better use that too. Better you can purchase a new mob phone that contains the above mentioned option. Happy new year!!

Hello, my friend.
No, I have not suffered from any side effects of the cellphone at all. I have one, but I hardly use it. When people make me calls, I also have to put it next to my ear, but I don't feel pain. I do not feel anything, but it may be because I hardly ever use it. I believe that yes, you should either upgrade to a new one or just sell yours. It is useless to keep in touch with people if this is going to get you hurt. And earache must not be something easy to handle. Try reducing the number of phone calls you receive. If possible, buy those headphones, and connect them to your cellphone. This way, you will receive less damage.
Respectfully,
Munhozmib.

Hi William,
Sorry to hear your sad story about your left-ear-ache and the caused of it. Yeah… maybe it was possible that adverse health effects could emerge after prolonged use, I guess. Fortunately, I am not to that extension of ache as I was really less on it after my heart attack happened on Jan. 15, 2008.
I think you better take one step like me, more on Instant Messaging (IM) system while working at your computer, rather than talking on the cellphone…..ha ha ha. Sorry, William, long time no kidding with you, just nice to have one for you…..ha ha ha.
So, don’t you take your time for medical check ?. I think better do it now before it’s up for next bad symptoms and of course will effect your sleeping time as ear’s nerves direct to your brain.

Morning, Michael. I thank you so much for your concern. Yeah, it is better to send instant messages to contact each other if possible. I will try to use this method to contact people to avoid further damage to my ears.
I am so sorry that you were diagnosed with heart attack in January this year. Please make sure that you have a good rest every day without working too hard. Health is more important than anything else.
I don't go to the medical check as I know where my problem is and I will take good care of myself in my daily life and work.
I am glad to tell you that I am getting better today. It is morning now at about 8:05. It seems that the left ear-ache is gone after one night's sleep and rest.
Next time I will only use the right ear to answer and make calls. I seldom use this ear though because I am used to the left ear.
Have a good day to begin with, my dear friend.

Hello there. Normally, when talking on the phone for long hours, I would use an earpiece or the loudspeaker so I don't have to place it at my ear the whole time. It can not only be tiring for the hand but also your ears. There is a possibility that your ears are tired having to listen all the time. Perhaps the volume is too loud?
