Another year is ending and we have a bright new year ahead, I hope it is a better one for all of us, full of positive new changes and lots of good luck. So what's everyone's plans to bring in the new year, attending a party, staying home and watching all the events on TV, hanging out with family or friends or no plans just yet?

Here is our exciting plan for the evening: we are dogsitting! Now doesn't that sound exciting? We rarely go out anyway on New Years Eve unless it's to a house party close to our home. Just not safe to be on the highways in this big city later at night. We will probably grab dinner out and then come back home. Our daughter asked if we could keep her dog for the night and I agreed. Couple of days later she said it was for 4 days. Ok, now I was stuck since the commitment was made. The dog is good and won't be a problem but we do have a cat and a dog of our own. Small kennel going on over here for a few days. Keeps me from being bored.

Well at least you'll be home nice and safe and you can watch the events on TV, I have no plans, I am staying in where I will be safe, warm and not have to worry about crowds and spending lots of money I do not have to throw away.

You best get Killer out of the food dish if you plan on keeping her!!! I find the idea of keeping 5 dogs & a cat extremely exciting!!! Your cat just might not agree with me though!!! I envy your night!!! You should have at least some minor excitement WITHOUT the possibility of a drunk driver spoiling it!!! I hope you thoroughly enjoy your night!!!

Enjoy your evening at home, Howard. I love to relax and do nothing but watch tv. As far as the animals, it is a fun time. Have to keep the cat away from the visiting dog since they don't get along. All 3 are terrific pets but there seems to be a small personality clash!

I will be spending time with my family here at home. But we will go out of the city limits and buy some fireworks and shoot them off. We do this before midnight then come back home and watch TV. This is something we do each year, unless it is raining too bad. The grandson loves it.

That's nice, I can imagine how much your grandson loves it. Here in my city they have made it illegal to set off fireworks so we don't see much of that. Enjoy your night of fun.

I'm in the middle of the road on this. I kind of want to go to my friends house but that is a drive and then I want ot stay home as well, My Mom invited me up to her place for a party but that is a 152 mile drive and trying to save on gas. As I have no money to be wasting yet. I know it sounds mean I woun't go to my Moms but I am behind on house payment and not working for a week So it is a ouch. So yes next year will be better I hope. Sorry to say I would forget about going to Mom's, 152 mile drive when all the drunks are out on the roads is not safe. It would be different if she lived closer. I wish you a safe and wonderful New Year my friend.

Thank you ! I want to go to America one day ,it's quite different from China .
I have a terrible stomachache this morning so I didn' go to school today ....
In Chinese opinion ,the new year's day is not the begining of the new year ,the begining is Spring Festival .At that time all my families will sit together and have a big dinner .....
Wish you a wonderful year !

Just be a quiet night in for me and my family my friend, I never celebrate New Year, I used to find it quite depressing what with all the hard work and getting excited for Christmas and it's all over in two days. I don't go to parties or socialize I am a very quiet person who prefers peace, I will see the New Year in and welcome with open arms 2009, it's a chance to start afresh and I have lots of goals I want to achieve in 2009. I will probably be on my computer as always, New Years is just like an additional Sunday for me and my family. Wishing you every success and happiness for the new year my friend.

happy new year my friend,
I love to stay home and watch the ball come down in time square. Years ago I used to go to a family reveillon (french celebration) but I prefer to stay home now. I just truly enjoy it, how about you what will you be doing?

Hi howard96h, an early happy new year to you! I am planing to go for a short trip with my friends. Because many factories are having a short break due to softer order volume, including our customers and suppliers, so our company are following as well. Therefore, I am having a one week plus holiday from 25th December until 4th of December. I remembered last year, I was having celebrating party at my friend's house. We were having steamboat dinners and some pokers/t.v. sessions afterward. It was so fun and memorable. So, I hope this year there will is be another pleasurable events as well. But everybody are talking about worse economy in the coming year.

I don't really have any plans for New Year's, but I like to tidy up the house, take out the garbage, etc. and have a nice long soak in the tub, washing off the old year's crap on my shoulders...

Hello howard96h,
I didn't celebrate new year this time. I was at home with my son. Hubby went for an annual dinner party held by his company and came back an hour before midnight and joined me to watch my movie marathon. It was quite a quiet occasion for both of us.

I didn't do anything special either, watched the TV celebrations from Times Square and then watched "The Honeymooners" marathon.

Wishing you Howard a very Happy New year! Well I have to work for a few hours on New Years Eve, but am planning on having 2 of my grandkids stay overnight. I won't be doing anything with my boyfriend I guess, oh well. And New Years Day I have to work a few hours, then I'm going to my brothers house for supper. I'm hoping for a better new years as well. Lol I already know that I'm getting a very nice raise at work, so that is a good start.

Well hopefully it will be a good year. We were invited to a party yesterday for new years eve which was a nice surprise and we can take the kids too if we wish so that is nice too. Not sure if we will go with the kids yet or not they might want to stay with my eldest son who will be home but it is up to them. I think if we go though it will be for a couple of hours and then get a take away on the way home.

I think I'm going to stay home. Someone invited us to a gathering, it would mean I have to leave my daughter at home, with a babysitter for the night. I don't think I can do it. I'm so attached to her. I have to be near her all the time. Maybe my hubby will go without us.

I just to stay at home with my family members, because, in my daily life I must go to work everyday, I have little to chat or enjoy with my family members. So when the new year's coming, there must be a holiday, at that time, just stay at home, enjoy the holiday.
