Or if you had kids, would you tell them?
I think I most definately would. It's a tradition. It's a learning experience. It's for creativity. Christmas will be so much more fun that way. Otherwise, it's just like "My parents are getting me things only this time it's in boxes" It might not be as special. Plus, I think I could have a lot of fun with it. I could leave notes, make boot tracks in the snow, the whole nine yards.

Hi Sheepie,
I don't have any children but I can never tell a child that Father Christmas don't exists, children needs some magic in their young lives as I had and who says there is no such thing? I believe in him.

Since Christmas is actually a Christian holy day (holiday), Santa is just a fun diversion for me. Our children were taught by us that Santa is just a fun Make-believe guy that people like to make stories about. We have stressed the religious aspect of the holiday. They watch all the same movies that other children do and have even had their photos taken with Santa, but they always have known that he's just for fun! We have taught them also that other families prefer to pretend a little bit more than we do and therefore we have told them not to spoil the fun for the other children they know.

Kids are innocent and I do believe that as parents we should preserve their innocence. I think that ther eis no harm in telling our children that Sana Claus really exists. They will find ou later in life by themselves.

As a child, knowing that Santa exists is an amazing experience. I remember trying to go too sleep so Santa will come than waking up the next morning and seeing all the goody's he's left. When I found out Santa wasn't real it wasn't a real punch in the gut. Actually, when a kid gets older they begin to realize more and more that Santa isn't real and it's oddly easy to accept that fact. Shoot, even at 17, although I don't directly believe in him, I still feel the spirit of Santa. The idea of him is awesome! I don't really see any harm done.
