Don't you hate it when you're supposed to rest during Christmas break but then your professors leave you homeworks and reading assignments to do over the break. One of my professors gave the class four reading assignments then there are questions to be answered then submitted online to him on December 31.
Okay, I'm venting. Ugh. :|
I just hate it.

Christmas isn't our offical holiday,so we are busy these days. However, new year is coming, we now are enjoying our holiday. My superviser is an affable old man,he invite me for lunch with his wife today. It's a custom here, all my roommates are invited by their supervisers.

Most of us have no religious beliefs,so Christmas is not our festival.I heard about Christmas Day in an english class when I was 13 for the first time.During that time few people know this day.Now ,it's common to see many celebrations on Christmas Day ,but it's not our offical holiday, we just want to take this opportunity to relax and have dinner together. In fact,it's celebrated only among young people .of course ,at night, because we still have to work at daytime.

It does seem odd that some teachers assign homework even when there is a holiday break but I think they want to keep the information fresh in your mind. By assigning at least some work for you to do they help to keep you thinking about what you've learned in their class so you don't fall behind when you come back from the break.
My nephew was also assigned homework over the break. I thought it was very funny to hear him say he had homework to do instead of saying I'm bored but once he opened his computer to do the research he did look rather busy. I'm sure he was surfing other sites once he was finished but at least he didn't complain about being bored.

Well. I sort of believe that he gave us homework because he hates us. When he's pissed off with us, he gives us deduction points for no reason. We don't even understand.
But yeah, good point. At least my brain will have some exercises.
