Christmas gift giving need not be such an expensive or waste-generating activity. With a little effort and imagination, you can still show loved ones how much you appreciate them while at the same time caring for the earth and saving yourself a few money. Have you guys consider this? For those people who are busy, I guess no.

As far as I am concered, I prefer making gifts to buying them for my friends because I enjoy making small things. Nowdays, however, the people are so busy that they do not like to make gifts by themselves as they think they have lots of other things to do. In fact, it does not take you much time to make small things and your friends will be very glad when you give them the gifts you made by yourself.

Yeah, imagine the time you have consumed in making such hand maid gift? It is already a big care for them to show how important they are.

I didn't spend as much money at Christmas this year because my Christmas budget was limited. However, at the same time I remembered everyone that I could in some special way. Even without much money I think I managed to show the people that I care about that I truly do care. It just takes a little bit of thought to make sure you don't go over your budget.

Yeah, you can offer or gives services as gifts instead of things. Like massage, tutoring, cooking, gardening and other things which are very personal and memorable. So we don't need more money to show caring with our love ones.

I think that is a great idea. I do not know where to actually start to give a gift of going green though.

All of my money (for the most part) is going into tuition and books for the next few weeks, so instead of buying Christmas gifts that would later be abandoned or forgotten I baked everyone cookies for Christmas. I covered everyone on my shopping list for under $30. I was fairly impressed. Then again, I did spend Dec. 23 evening after working baking cookies. (I ended up with 90+ cookies.) I divided them up into little festive bags (I got something like 30 bags for $2) and then got an accompanying box of candy canes. Everyone got a little pouch of cookies and candy for Christmas, and it went over really well. Generally though I try to make my holidays as green as possible. I don't buy wrapping paper, instead I usually recycle old newspapers/phone books by wrapping gifts in them. You might think it's strange, but if you get pages with photographs or maps (our phone book is full of maps of the state and surrounding counties) you can actually end up with some rather pretty packages, and you don't have to waste any extra money or resources on paper that'll just be torn up and thrown away/recycled anyway.

Well even though I didn't really go "green" so to speak, I did use less wrapping paper because I made a donation to a charity for all of the adults that I had to buy for. I asked for favorite charities and when they wouldn't give one I picked my own lol I really like people to do the same for me but they are to into buying junk I don't need or want.
