I have used several including Avira, Avast and AVG. I quit using Avira because the licence needs to be renewed every year. So does Avast. The latest addiyion is Comodo. It has gone beyond the beta stage. It may be better than AVG because it caught several viruses which were not detected by AVG. One of my sons is using it on his laptop. Previously he could not open a program and his laptop was attacked by unknown viruses. After installing Comodo a scan showed that the program had a trojan attached to it. My suggstion is to give Comodo a try. all the best, rosdimy

Me too had a lot of problem with best anti virus. After a long testing I could say that Quick heal is the best anti virus which helps to keep my system clean. I have used a lot of anti virus but i didn't find any satisfaction with it. But quick heal gave me 100% satisfactions.Use quick heal sure it will solve all your problems. Important thing is that you have to purchase a genuine copy and update it regularly.

Hi adha, I Use free version of AVG. Uptill now its working fine. Its good but the only problem si sometimes it doesnt updates and have to do some work to update it and secondly when the schedule scan starts it slows down the pc quite a lot. I have heard Norton is good also. I dont know as i havent used it either. Always use antivirus softwares while using internet services as they can harm yr puter quite badly. Cheers, Tutul

Well for my desktop i dont use any anti viruses as it is a vista operating system and it does not require any anti viruses since the viruses of vista's are not far spread and for the laptop i'm curretly using the symantec 2008 version of antivirus..previously i was using the avg free version which did not do anything but take in a lot of space in my computer, but now the symantec is really good and great going...happy mylotting..

Hey, I was also wondering about the same question you are right now. And I think I found on of the best in the world. It happened probably through trial and error. At first I was using Norton Internet Security and I thought that did a good job. It was actually quite good but it was kinda slowing my computer down a little bit. It actually isn't that bad in using up your system resources as others say it is. It found and removed viruses well. Then I wanted to try out Windows Live OneCare. After I installed windows Live OneCare I noticed a huge drop in my login and boot time. Normally with Vista it takes about 6 seconds to actually log you in to your desktop. With Windows Live OneCare it took about 40 seconds to log me in. And it found NO viruses. Normally even Norton deltes tracking cookies, but OneCare found nothing. I then tried Kaspersky Internet Security 2008 and found that it was faster than ALL of the antiviruses I had tried and that it finds and removes basically all the viruses that it finds. Hope this helps you!

What I use is CA antivirus.. I don't really like McAfee cause it makes my computer much slower. And also, Norton makes my computer slow and sometimes it hangs as well.. LOL.. I tried some others, but it makes my computer really slow.. this one that I'm using is not too bad.. I tried AVG as well, but AVG always have an update issues... and after that happens, you cannot update anymore.. and the computer will prolly be infected with so many viruses.. So I'm just sticking to this as this doesn't make my computer lag as well.. :)

I used to be using AVG8 but the problem was it blocked some of my ports on computer and I spent too much time reconfiguring it, so I gave up and now I have no antivirus program. I am cautious enough not to get my computer infected, plus I have a backup and already preinstalled xp if something happens. So if I get the virus that would really _destroy_ a lot of data, I'd just reinstall windows and problem solved.

I like to use spy bot and Norton because whatever the other one might miss then the other catches and plugs up the open vulnerable ports.

I have used Norton and Webroot. I prefer Webroot as it always updates regularly and it's scheduled sweeps are very thorough and do not slow my computer down.

I use McAfee too as I find that it is very good at protecting my computer. I also use their firewall so that I am doubly protected. I think a firewall is as important as an antivirus software. I used to have Norton but it let a couple of viruses in and I lost confidence in it. :-) Derek

Zonealarm is what we have and it has worked well for us except it is very strict and will not allow anything outside of it's guide lines. If you are doing a large amount of different functions it might not work for you.
