Desktop, with a large flat screen. I've always been disappointed with the lack of power in the laptops I've had. Just get more punch with a desktop

Hey, I prefer to have a laptop than a desktop. The main reason is because I can take it almost anywhere I want to, plus it doesn't take up that much room on my desk.

Well, I actually am lucky enough to be able to own both of these as well. I have owned a laptop a little over a yr. and a half, and owned a Home Computer around 9 yrs. or so. They both have their advantages that is for sure. I normally will use my Home Computer the most, but have been known to carry my laptop around from time to time when I am going places around town, and when I travel as well. I guess I could say I cannot imagine my life without having access to the Internet wherever I am as well.

It really depends what you want it for. If you're looking to go for a laptop that is more graphic design/media friendly, I'd go for a macbook or macbook pro. Also, I've found that the operating system for macs (OS X and Leopard) don't have as many problems as windows does. Grr... windows! I know people who have pc's and I've heard some pretty good feedback from them.

Hey, I would prefer a Laptop instead of a desktop system. It is true that laptops can't really compete with desktops, but I don't really use laptops for gaming or whatever. Desktops naturally will have a faster RPM hard drive. Most laptops these days come with either a 5400 RPM hard drive or a maximum of 7200 RPM hard drive. On the other hand desktop systems sometimes come with a 10,000 RPM hard drive which are much faster than laptops which will mean that they can transfer files faster, boot up faster, etc... But desktops kinda suck because most of them take up SO much space on your desk. That is one reason why I have a laptop because my desk at home isn't that big so I have a laptop on it, takes up much less space. Also, you can't take desktops anywhere you want. With laptops you can take them to college, school, work, etc...Hope this helps!

hey a nice dicussion actually.. it depends on whether it is for personal use or if it is a common thing for ur family.. because latops requires some gentle care which cannot be given if it is a public use.. if its for single then lappys are well and good.. i would prefer laptop.. and its handy too.. u can take it on travels.. put a 9 cell battery and enjoy for 7 hrs.. no need to sit before ur table.. u can use it anywhere.. sitting on a sofa..watching TV.. watever... lappys are best..
