hi,
i use anti virus. but sometimes my computer get attacked by viruses. for a long time i was safe, but once my computer started restarting by itself. it used to display a countdown of 30 seconds and after that it restarts. i learnt that it is a virus and couldn't do anything because it shuts down in 30 seconds. so i had to format my computer. have you been attacked by these kinds of viruses anytime?

Ya I have been struck by a virus of this kind but it can be resolved..
I tell you how
Actually that was basically not a virus, that was a batch program or a batch file that can be created easily by just creating a shortcut and giving it the batch program definition (-s -t) and there is one more thing but i am not going to tell you that. After this a autorun file is created.
The antivirus think this is a batch program that user has initiated but actually it is the autorun file that did this.
This can be resolved by just boot the system in safeMode and delete the registry entry of that file.........
There is no need of formatting the system
