When it is ok to lie? Have "White Lies" been acceptable now? What if you lie because you are just protecting yourself or someone? what if you lie because you do not trust the person? Is there a right time for making lies? Or we really have to be honest all the time? :P

Lying is NEVER acceptable! not in my world!
I absolutely HATE being lied to.. whether it be a white lie or a lie to make me feel better about something OR even protecting me.
I don't lie and I expect the same respect from those around me.
Trust is a terrible thing to lose...

Personally, I think its only ok to lie when you're trying to surprise someone and telling them the truth would just blatantly spoil the surprise :) like if your wife/husband/gf friend or whatever asks you where you were all day or what you were doing you could make something up instead of saying i was shopping or i was at this mall or something like that...
but I guess maybe what could also be considered a white lie are the euphemisms we might use to say we're unemployed (we're in between jobs, we're looking for a job, we're doing ok) or had a fight (we're disagreeing on xxx or its nothing...).
I dunno there's so many of those out there... can anyone else think of something like that?

whether it's a white one or not... as a teacher, I always remind my students not to be used in engaging themeselves into a dishonest act... may the means nor ends are good...
