I have a 13 year old and a 19 month old. My first labor was 8 hours and I had my first son. My second labor was only 2 and a half hours long and I had my second son. I would dearly love to have a daughter one day. I have had home births, the first with a water pool and gas and air for pain relief. The second birth was too quick for any pain relief.

I hope that you will be as lucky as I was for my second baby. My water pool for so very relaxing because I could move around easily and felt supported by the water. The water had to be kept at 37 degrees C. I found the water superb for pain relief.

I guess it depends what you count as labor. With my first one I started getting pains when I went to bed. By morning I was getting them so hard I went in. I had my daughter then around 5pm. With my second one i got pains for 2 days, only in the evening. Each day was a little stronger. By the third night it was strong. I went to the hospital around 2 am and had my daughter around 9. With my son I was induced. They gave me stuff at 7 am and I had him by 4. So I averaged around 8 hrs once I went in to the hospital.

It took me 24hours to give birth to my daughter. What an experience.
