Almost Was Scammed!

We all know not to fall for email scams, but we all also make mistakes every once in a while. For instance, I once stupidly thought Yahoo had made a new stipulation that you had to sign into your Yahoo account in order to access geocities accounts. It didn't sound too far fetched of an idea at the time, but then when the form generator gave me an error message from some weird site, I knew I had been had.
I got off pretty lucky. I changed my password, cleared out all of my personal information from the account, including friend list, and just started over with a new account. My sister's mistake may have cost her $600 or more.
She was unfortunate enough to have made the mistake of falling for the old "Your PayPal Account needs updating" scam. Without even thinking she clicked the link and gave them all sorts of info including her debit card number and her PayPal log-in, which linked to one of her bank accounts.
They managed to get around $600 out of her account before she noticed what had happened, and since it was after hours and she was a bit distraught, she was having problems finding out how to get her card canceled.
I helped her out, called a few numbers and got the card and her PayPal account canceled then made sure she was going to have all the stuff she'll need in the morning when she goes to the bank in order to hopefully get her money back.
On top of that, I've got to work an 11 hour shift for the next 2 days, plus I worked an overnight at the beginning of the week! YAY for being dead tired! Watch out for these scams people!

hey great that you helped your sis..we always have to watch out of such people..they are always hiding somewhere or other to attack the innocent people...i will spread your message via my email..we should never never reveal our personal details and passwords to anyone even if they say they are legit..that is the first and basic step we have to keep in mind.
thanks
happy myloting
