January 16, 2009 is going to be a easily remembered date for me.

Most of you know that my family of 5 had to move from our 4 bedroom house to a townhome community in another city. It is primarily because of my 1/3 salary reduction and we also had to give away our van back to the company as well.
We had to put our house on a short sale to prevent a foreclosure. On the day we moved out, we got a contract on the house. It was supposed to close by the end of 2008, but now it is confirmed to sale on January 16, 2009. We don't need anything from the house as we moved everything out and cleaned it as best as we could.
So our biggest investment is now a lesson learned and we are so thankful to God that it didn't actually go into foreclosure.
Has anyone else had to deal with this sort of thing?

I haven't had to but I am glad that it worked out as well as it did for you.. It would have been nice not to have had to make these changes but so many have lost everything and are having to start over completely.. I wish you so much better luck for the next year and for many more..

I am so sorry to hear about what happened to you! I suppose a huge salary cut is better than being retrenched, but I can only imagine how scary it must be!
All I can say to you is that you and your family will be in my prayers - that you find a better job and that you are able to get back on your feet as soon as possible.
Keep strong and trust in God!
