How close are you with your cousins?

Hi there. Well, I have a cousin who lives with us since he was a child. He is our first cousin and I am really close to him. He is like one of my siblings. Everytime they ask me on how many brothers i have, I always say "two". lolz. His brother is in abroad for few years now and that one is close to us too... Hmmm... most of my first cousin on my pops and moms side are all close to us since I am the eldest in the family! Thank you for the discussion! Happy New Year! And Happy Mylotting! Cheers!

I am not all that close to my cousins to be honest. I haven't seen them for awhile either, and no we didn't celebrate Christmas with my family. My fiance and I were busy with his family but we did make time to see my mom, call my aunt while we were at my mom's, and then go see my grandparents. I actually called my aunt when we were at my mom's because she bought my fiance and I both something for Christmas. The last time I saw my cousins was at a sad time though, and it wasn't quite the time to catch up with anyone.

Well, my husband and I went over to his Sisters for Christmas eve. We spent time with his Sister and Boyfriend, his niece and family, and his Mom and Step Dad. None of his cousins were there, so we could not say we saw them, and none of my family lives close to us so we do not keep in touch with them either. But it was Good to see his family, and talk. Some of them live close and some of them live quite aways away, but we are all so busy so it seems we never get much of a chance to spend time together as well. It was a Great Holiday season here and glad we got to all spend it together.

Some of my favorite holiday memories from when I was a child was the times when the whole family would get together at my grandparents house and my 5 cousins would be there. My sister and I were especially close to our female cousin who was the same age as my sister. We'd always be laughing about stuff and having so much fun at the events. And we'd spend the night at each others houses too. It's sad now though because we aren't in contact with them any more because of a very unfortunate thing...But on my dad's side of the family, we have some cousins who are turning out to be really sweet and fun to be around.

I see one of my cousins everyday, he lives at my moms house where we are currently living. we all pay rent here and contribute. . we are not close per say, but he's always here and so am i. lol. I have so many cousins and second cousins that i have never even met. my mother is the baby of 9 children in her family, and my dad is the eldest his his family, so not many of us line up in age. . i am the eldest on my fathers side by at least 3 years. and my little brother is the youngest on my moms side by at least 4. I guess i have second cousins that i will probably never ever meet. I met the cousins brother that lives here for the first time i remember on xmas. it was short and sweet.

I have 16 cousins on my mother's side of the family. We are all as close as brothers and sisters even though we live all around the world from Italy to the US. I am very fortunate to have such a great close knit family!

We are a big family. I have nine uncles and aunties from my mother side. All of them have so many kids. Some of my cousins are much older than me and I don't have much in common with them. I am more closer with the ones that I am in the same age group. We usually meet at a wedding but besides that we don't meet much.

I'm close to my cousins from my mother side. I don't get to see my cousins from my father side so i don't really know anything about them and my dad doesn't talk about them. When we were kids, i was about 10 years old that time, we have this tradition during christmas time to celebrate the season at our house and the new year at our cousin's house, I really miss those times because we get to talk and mingle with them, share stories and secrets, play hide and seek, and the like.. Now that we're older, We don't get to do that anymore because of our schedules and the geographical locations.

yeah...i am closed with my cousins they are the daughters of my mother youngest sister..but now, just recently the two of them got married..but we still chat each other thru mobile phones because they are already living in separate place..i felt sad within me because i feel that someday this closeness of ours will be gone..because they'll be concetrating their own family already..

I have a lot of cousins and in our younger days we all got together in our ancestoral home and had a lot of fun climbing trees and playing all the time.But as we grew up things slowly began to change and there were some frictions created by others etc; which drove us apart.But again some of us have become close and keep in touch and visit each others families whenever possible- over a period of time i have realised that nothing is permanent in life including relationships, they too undergo some changes

yup i have one cousin he is i year elder than me we are closed to each other shared every thing. Whenever i get the time i spend my time with them enjoy

I have four cousins.Two of them are girls and the others are boys.I like one of my sisters very much because her character likes me.She is a quiet girl and her favourate thing is reading.I am a quiet girl,too,so I like her.The other sister is a little selfish.She always looks me like her biggest enemy.I don't like her. AS to my two brothers,they're funny and always make mistakes.When a new year comes,we will get together to have a dinner.But we don't get in touch with each other often,for we each have our own things to do. Now 2009 is coming.I will see my cousins again!

Yes i am very close to one of my cousin sister. she & me are very good friend from our childhood. During holidays we go to each others home and spending all the holidays. She lives in a different town.So when the holidays are over and we need to go to school, we were crying that we were going to be apart. wee could not bare that. Now we both are in different countries but still we talk to each other share small small things like daily happenings in our office,family etc

I have many cousins from both my mother's and father's sides, but we all live very far away from each other now, except a few of them live close, but i miss them very much, we share so much fun when we were little kids.

I am very close to only one of my cousion, though i dnt see her alot. But we talk on phone and e-mail alot. I am not that muh close to my other cousion may be due to the fact that they stay far away and moreover our intrests are different. But whenever we have family reunions we all enjoy alot..:-))

Yes, I was glad to see everyone during the holidays, I got to see one of my sisters and my brother, they both live away from us and we don't get to see them very often, it was good to see them, and I have one cousin that I'm close to, and its always good when we get together and see each other.

I used to be close with my cousins. They stayed in our house when they were still studying because their house is in the province. We used to play games during weekends and even until summer vacation. We had a lot of fun moments together. But when they graduated from highschool, they went back to their place and we only get to see each other seldom. Our clan used to have a family reunion every two years so we still get to be with each other again and spend fun time together.

Happy new year.. Both sides i'm close with my cousins.. My cousins in my father side are more closer since we grew up in same environment and we see each other often since we're kids..Last Christmas I didnt go home instead I spent it with my cousin 7 relatives.

hi my lotters, To be candid, I really do not know how many cousins I have and their where abouts. I hardly speak with them and I doubt if they know where I am and what I am doing. I am the only one to my parents and I dont have any one with whom I can really speak my heart out. But , I never felt bad for I throughly enjoyed my loneliness and the feeling that I am one for myself. This also helped me to focus on my goals and reach my goals. Also, I know the importance of having your own people always for you but I dont have. no issues yaar. life is short and we got to live it to the fullest therefore I dont ponder all these issues. But i wish everbody out there to go out and freak out with your cousins as the saying goes blood is thicker than water, I mean how many ever friends you have , they cannot replace your cousins. cheeers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a lot of cousins, but unfortunately am not close to all of them. We were all close when we were little, but pretty much all of our parents got divorced, remarried, moved, etc. and we don't see each other anymore. We do have a reunion every year for my mother's side of the family and some of my cousins do come, so I get to see a few once a year. I haven't seen 2 of my cousins in over 20 years! I do have one cousin who I am very close to. We talk once every couple months and try to get together at least once or twice a year. I wish I could be closer to all of them.
