The new year is knocking on the door and I can feel the looming thunder clouds gathering. My wife will soon come to me with her arguments for us to get new cell phones. Since I fought her and won last year I may just give in and let her get the phones she wants this year. How often do you guys change your cell phones? We have had ours for 3 years now.

I try and change my cell at least once a year. Sometimes I am unable to do this if money is tight. I put my cells thru a lot of abuse though. I am always dropping my cells and you know how picky those things are.
I wish I could wait three years, I am not into all the hype like having the best phone but I do have to have a phone with a speaker and picture compatiablity. Love the post and happy mylotting:)

i think ive had this one for about 3 years now. nothing special, though it does take pictures, which i rarely use. i dont ever buy a new one until i either lose or break the one ive got. i find switching all the info over a pain in the a$$ and like transfering items to a new computer...dread it lol!

When I get a cell phone, I'm pretty content with it for about 2 years, as long as I don't break it... My girl friend is same way... She had same cell phone for about 4 years before she changed hers... And that's only because she broke it by accident... I had my blackberry for almost a year, not quite but almost... I only changed my cell phone for my work... I'll keep my phone for another year & when my contract is up, I'll look for a decent deal & look for a cheap or even free phone for a back up...

I change mine every 2 years, coinciding with the contract I have with my mobile carrier. They give such lovely rebates and discount vouchers that I just can't say no. Come to think of it, Feb 2009 is when my contract expires, and I still have no idea what cell phone to buy. Cheers, and Happy New Year!

I've had my current cell phone for a little over a year. I thought about getting a new one recently but it just didn't seem with the purchase. This one works just fine, and it's not like I rush out to get the newest or flashiest model. As long as it works and comes with a few small features I'm happy, so I've decided to stick with it. My roommate on the other hand has gone through 4 different blackberries since June and just recently bought himself another new one, I believe it's the new Voyager through Bell. Three years seems about right though. About the time of a contract length.
Depending on the company your with you could new phones free of charge by signing a new contract at that point and with your customer cash back appreciation.
