i see many people are not satisfied with their work.one of the reasons is they have to do things which they are not happy with doing.with your heart not in the job its bad for all.i wish we all could have pursued our hobbies as careers, what do you think?

i completely agree with you. this is one of my greatest wishes in life, to be able to work on something that i truly love. right now, i have to work in a job i hate just so i can earn enough to feed my family. maybe someday i will be able to do what i love with a little hard work and patience

I couldn't pursue it as a full time career but I am still trying to convince my parents to help me pursue my habit of pottery as a pat time career...I love my time while doing pottery but I need to have someone finance my work in the beginning..My Dad wants me to take it as a gift and I want a loan...Hope he will understand my point soon..Its not that I hate my career as an Engineer, after all it is going to pay well! Have a nice day!

I think even hobbies would become boring and repetitive if we had to do it all the time. Hobbies, by definition are supposed to be a diversion. If we had to perform them everyday we would need something new to divert us.

Hello friend aakayu, I am in a mix up position. Computers are my passion and my present job involves working with computers and with a new software developed for the purpose. So a lot of testing and suggestion for development is involvement. When I see modifications according to my suggestions, it gives satisfaction and energy to work more. As such I am not totally devoid of pursuing of my hobby. But it also involves some other things which are not of my taste.Luckily, that is not the major part. It is really difficult to work when one has to work that is not at all liked, as have been stated by some friends. It reduces the energy, brings tension easily and the quality of work cannot be high. But nothing can be done, unless some job of choice is available, as we have to earn for living and meet the commitments. May God give all of us the scope to pursue hobby as our job..

I am just this kind of person. I don't even have a job,but i don't like my major and don't want to work in that area. This problem bored me long ago, it's not easy for me to make a change, I have been used to live like many persons around me without thinking for the future. When we were at high school our only aim was to enter a college ,but didn't care what our interests were. Now I find my interest and I have been working hard to persue it. Sometimes I feel tired of live like this, but I believe I must hold on,or I won't find my value of living.

I have the best career of all, and it could be called a hobby too. I am a mum, raising my 5 children, and while stressful, it is the best job in the world. I am hoping to become a writer in the next couple of years (once at least 3 of my children are at school) and would like to earn from that, but we'll see.

I think that people can pursue their hobbies as an career as long as they put their heart and mind into. I also think that it is very sad to see people to whom work the 9 to 5 and aren't happy. It's better to be happy with your job to be unhappy.

I have several hobbies but i always felt that my hobby should remain what they are supposed to be...and that is a hobby. Hobbies are mainly for recreation and relaxation and it is better ifeel that it should not become a means of earning.Of course if one enjoys the hobby when it becomes ones job then its okay but if it becomes a drag then one may lose interest in it altogether.I have managed to keep my hobby seperate from my career and now that i am retired i have the luxury of indulging in my hobbies which gives me immense pleasure.lol and WISH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY A HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS 2009.

That is what I'm trying to find out in college. I don't want to get stuck doing something I don't like. If only everyone could have jobs they like. I'm actually finding that I'm enjoying my work at home side jobs... hmmm maybe I'm onto something

I'm 100% agree with you, must having a hobby as your career is not easy. There are many circumstances involved, and some time you even do not have time for your hobby. I wish I could have my hobby as a career, and I try mybest to made it happen. BR.b
