Talking on cell phone is banned in many countries like India while driving. It is estimated that when u talk on phone your attention on road is same as someone who had about 4 to 5 pegs of alcohol. The chances of accident increse. How many of us drive while they talk on phone€?

As much as possible I try not to answer any phone calls when I am driving. But there are just times that I really need to answer considering that I find the call very important. I do find it dangerous... So now I have a handsfree set up with my phone that I usually engage when I am driving. At least all my hands are free during driving. Still, some people say that its dangerous since we might lose our concentration. But I think its better than holding the phone with one hand while driving.

I use a blue tooth headset when I'm driving becasue in California it is illegal to speak on a cell phone while driving unless you are using some sort of hands free device.

No, I don't answer on my cell phone while driving. I get on the side of the road and park and then either call back or pick up my phone. I am strictly against this habit and anyone who finds the other talking on his phone while driving must stop him. It is very dangerous because when you are talking on the phone you loose your concentration while driving and anything might happen. First of all it is dangerous for you and then if someone comes in front of your vehicle at this time you will not be able to save him as well as your self too. So I would ask everyone in this world to be careful about this. And thanks for raising this question because it needs every single man's attention.

No, I make it a point not to talk, while driving. If I happen to receive a call, when I am driving, I just disconnect the call or else if it appears to be urgent, I stop my vehicle on the road side and listen to the call, in brief. If I am in my car and my partner is sitting besides me, I just hand over my cell phone to her to take the call and apprise me of the latest position. I buy your agruments that people while driving should not take the call, else it may be risky and it may cause accidents.
Good Post!

Well, I shouldn't but I do. It's bad, especially since I'm under 18 and I shouldn't even be using the phone at ALL while driving.
I think it depends on the person. Also the situation. I don't really get distracted, but others do. If you get distracted from doing it then don't drive while on the phone! lol.

I do it whenever I am alone in the car, and I use a hands free set. Sometimes the call I received were important. It was not always possible to stop by the roadside to answer calls.
I think the study was made on drivers who had one hand holding the hand set/cell phone while driving. Even though this is illegal in my country I have seen drivers and even motorcyclists doing it. Thwy were the ones who created problems for other road users.
all the best,

Most of the time I won't talk on the phone while I'm driving. I usually let the person leave a message and I will get back to them when I get where I'm going.
