I get really bad headaches too.
So bad I throw up if I don't do something.
I get the headaches due to spinal problems.
Chiropractor did help some at some points but I was born with problems with my spine.
Anyway, I used to take tylonol with c0dine to help relieve the pain pretty much as soon as the headache started so to stop it before it got bad and then I would lay down.
I would have to go to sleep and the c0dine would help me do that.
When I'd wake, the headache was gone.
Then one day someone told me to try and asprin so I did. It worked great. I stopped taking the tylonol with c0dine, didn't want to take it anyway and started taking the asprin. It helped a lot and didn't have to go to sleep.
Sometimes, before th asprin, I would take a bath to relax my muscles and use a cold cloth on my eyes. Then I would go lay down and try to just slow my breathing down so I would fall asleep.
Lately, for the past year I have been taking Ibprophen.
The spinal problems have gotten worse and is something I had to do.
I find the Ibprophen begins working in 30 minutes and doesn't make me groggy like the tylonol with c0dine did.
As for yourself, If you are not sure what is causing your killer headaches, you should probably consult the doctor or go see a chiropractor as your neck could be out of alignment.
Since you get the headaches at the office, try an ibprophen, 200 mg's (not a prescription, just a friendly suggestion)
I think you will be amazed at how great they work.
Do Not take them when you have or are going to have an asprin the same day. Do not mix Ibprophen with A.S.A
Best to you! I know how harsh the headaches can be.

See a another doctor!!
and also have look at this http://www.freeiq.com/howtogetridofaheadache
and stop eating dairy products. I had bad headaches for 20 years, was treated for migraine but nothing worked. Saw an acupuncturist who said I had sinusitis.
Stopped eating all diary prodcuts and 3 weeks later it went. I now eat very very little cheese, NO butter, skimmed milk only, very little chocolate, and NO cream.
I don't have it anymore
good luck
Dave

they certainly can - particularly in sinus because they are very high in fat and for some reason, some people get a build up of mucus in the sinuses which gives the headache. But then there are many kinds of headache. A sinus headache feels like something is trying to your push eye out (well mine did) another sort can feel like something gripping the back of the head.
Hope you fond the answer somewhere

ya know what, since i've been drinking more lattes every morning I've noticed my sinuses have been acting up. I keep getting drainage that wants to kill me in the middle night and I feel like i'm drowning. I thought it was allergies. I will try cutting out more dairy and see. thanks

Perhaps that is migraine my dear. Oh, I have and suffer migraine usually. It is normal to me and it is killing me....I am immuned with migraine medicines. What is worse when I have migraine, I also vommit to the last drop until I cannot stand and feel very weak.
What to do? Take pain relievers. Avoid foods and works that triggers it. One is avoid high protein foods. Chocolate and nuts can trigger it. Hardly digested meat also does. Oily food can trigger it.
Too much exposure to bright lights and computer can likewise trigger it. When you use the computer, make sure to have a rest for a while. Close your eyes and exercise it by seeing green colored things. or try to look in a 20 meters away.
Rub your palm in circles, that may help perhaps, I got it from reflexology books.

Hi Nisha, I often get migraines when I'm worried or stressed. I don't usually feel this in the office, as I would be too busy to notice it. However, once I'm off from work, the pain would start. I hate to take any medication for it, so as soon as I can, I will go off to sleep. That is so far the best cure for me.

Hello Nisha, I have gone through all the posts of this discussion and I see that there are many friends here who are suffering from headache and most are resorting to pain killing medicines. These are not at all good for health and has serious side effects. But just to get relieved of the pain you have no alternative.
One of my colleague suffers from migraine and when he has the attack he feels so sick, remains absent from job and vomits. He is continuing medicine for long and has found no permanent solution.
You must have see a doctor first to know the reason behind as there are so many things which gives rise to headache.
To all friends who suffer from headache, I am suggesting a remedy that does not need taking any medicine. It is called 'Pranayam' a kind of breathing exercise. If you get 'AASTHA' channel in TV view the 'Pranayam' programme by Swami Ramdevji. And just have a look at the link below, you will find solutions to many of your problems without medicine and just by breathing. You just have to afford 30 min. time for yourself to stay fit and healthy.
http://divyayoga.com/main.htm
You can also buy a CD/DVD from them to help you learn it. If you follow the TV programme you need not pay anything. I am no way connected with them. Actually i am following it for last two years and have got help whcih no medicine would have given me. There is no harm in trying it as you have to just breath in some extra oxygen in the prescribed way.
May God give you all a headache free new year..

You need to consult a specialist because having headaches should never be taken for granted. If you're suffering from constant headaches, there's a tendency for you to have some complications inside your body. Please, seek advice from your physician.

ok, so this sounds funny but try Midol extra strength.I grew up with Migraines and sometimes this is the only thing that eases them. They have caffiene in them and they relax you. Do you drink a lot of soda or coffee on and off? Caffeine headaches are killer ones too and the only thing that eases them is a little caffeine. Drink plenty of water, tons! To make sure you are not dehydrated and because you just need a lot of water anyway. Also eating right plays a HUGE part in the way you feel so be healthy. Good luck and sorry, I know how ya feel
