During New Year's Eve & New Years, do you have any traditions and events that you do with your family and/or friends? What type of events do you do with them? In my city there is a yearly party (outside) in downtown (central part) of the city. I never have gone. Each person must have a ticket & all the events are outside! (In my city it's always cold during winter time).
Sometimes I went to my grandparent's to celebrate. That was pretty fun (but kind of boring), sometimes I stay at home & watch TV (a little boring though ). This year I am going to call my cousin to see if she is having a party at her place. She usually does that. My best friend invited me to go to her church on New Year's Eve. She said they have a breakfast buffet & members of their congregation sing & dance. It sounded very interesting (especially spending time with her).
For traditions we usually buy champagne (or sparkling grape, or white wine) to drink. We make sauerkraut, and pork (ham sometimes too). It's supposed to be a dish to bring good luck in the new year.
So, what are your traditions and events that you do for the New Year with your family and/or friends?
