An operating system is a program that acts as an interface between the user and the computer hardware. It controls the execution of all kinds of programs.
Now this is the point that which type type of operating system you like most. Some examples of operating system are like Linux, unix, MS-DOS, Macintosh etc. When we choose any operating system that type it is must to care these things . Like Memory management, Processor management, Device management and security etc.

I prefer Windows XP than Windows Vista. My friend told me about several issues in Windows Vista. There is not supported any such programs especially old programs. This old programs have to upgraded. Beside that, Windows Vista need a lot of memory to run. My Windows XP run normally and comfortly in 1GB RAM where that is minimum requirement memory of Windows Vista.
For the other operating system like linux, macintosh etc. I have no ideas about that. I'm never using that operating systems.

I have same opinion with Mr. Henryfekok. I have some experience used Windows Vista, such as Windows Vista is too slow to run a program, need too many memory to run this System, once a time I'd make this operations system crhused because I try to used a program who not supported on Windows Vista, so I must Reinstall this operation system. One thing I really love Windows Vista is about the screen performances, it's look grean and cool for me.

I have only ever used Windows and DOS so I can only choose between Windows versions.
I would say that I really like Vista but I lack the RAM to make it run smoothly. It seems like it does everything efficiently enough for me but does require more than the 2GBs I have now.

My favorite operating system is Windows XP.Windows Vista is cool too but you really need fantastic computer to make it work.If you have normal or good or slow computer you start hating Vista like me because it`s SLOOOW.Windows XP is not very secure but with good anti virus software it`s still the most stable operating system in my opinion.Happy MyLotting!Bye!

Hey,
Personally I use Windows Vista! I have actually never ever tried to use Linux, unix, MS-DOS. My College has now got some new iMac's so I could see how they work, but honestly most of the population actually uses Windows. So I like to use Windows too, but not only for that same reason because most of the world uses it. I like Windows because there are many applications and games that are available for Windows and not for the other operating systems such as Linux, unix, MS-DOS, etc.. Also I am not sure how other people find the other operaing systems but I find that Windows is the easiest to use when it comes to beginners. Then probably comes Mac OSX and then the rest of them. Lastly I like Windows the best since I have grown up with it and I don't know how it would be to change to another operating system. They all seem to hard to handle.

I use the intel pentium 4 thing and am quite satisfied with the performance. I think it is very user friendly and thus I am fan of it. Also the new vista version is also good with a lot of applications attached to it.

I prefer Windows XP as it requires much lesser resources(memory) than vista. I tried Vista once, and was disappointed with the resources consumption which slows down my computer. 2nd OS i would prefer is Linux, more stable and reliable, but many software doesn't support the OS...

I really like Mac OS X. I have 2 computers, one PC and one Mac. I really love using the Mac because of its ease of use, robustness and its user friendly GUI. Plus it does not crash that often. And when it crashes you don't need to do anything special. Just restart your Mac and its all ready to go.
Compare that with a Windows PC and it is not even close. Windows crashes a lot, has tons of viruses and is very very slow. I have tried running Ubuntu but few programs support Ubuntu. I would like to eventuially switch to a Linux OS soon but unless they get more program support, I would stick with a Mac OS.
