Hayden selected - Australia board not daring to remove out of form batsman?

Hayden has been selected for the final test at Sydney, even as the world anticipated that he would be dropped. I don't find a reason why he has been selected. Australia have been very strict in their selection policy, over the years. Do you feel that the failure has made them play safe? Or is it they want to support star players than in form players?
