Triangular sandwiches taste better than square ones

I ate triangular egg sandwich once and then hubby got me a square one a few days after. they tasted the same :) I don't mind both but yea sometimes food presentation makes it look more delicious the taste might be more delicious but it might just have certain spices added to it

I don't think so. For me, I can't life triangular sandwiches as they are harder to hold on to then the square one. You see, I have a disability.

Personally, I've found that sandwiches cut in the shape of dodecahedrons are definitely the most flavoursome! The only problem though is that by the time you've trimmed off the pieces needed to make this shape, the sandwich is about the size of a postage stamp. Tasty though!

The taste won't be any different but I agree that the way it is presented might be more appealing and tempting for someone to take one and eat. You've made a very good point here.

Hi Ronaldinu, to me the presentation is not that important, as long the food is clean. Sometimes food (especially in hotels) is well presented, but the taste is really - so a simple presentation and great taste is okay with me!

Personally, I have never really thought about it. But the reason they probably do taste better would be that they are smaller in size, so there would be more flavor there. Maybe I will have to consider trying this myself each time I have a sandwich, and see if this is it.

It is the presentation that counts. With squared ones it is usually buttering the bread and putting some bologna, cheese, or fish in between and maybe some mustard, mayonnaise, or a few lettuce leaves - pretty basic. But with triangle sandwiches, they go into a bit more detail, like they have deviled eggs, they have a dill pickle with the grilled cheese, they may make a cream cheesed sandwich, and if they make a meat sandwich they make sure that the condiments are a little better. It is not that the triangular sandwich tastes better because of its shape, it is what is in it.

This is a very interesting topic. Actually I only eat triangular sandwiches before but I haven't even seen the square ones. I think they taste the same. Different shapes doesn't mean that they will have different taste, do they?:) I love China

I don't think there is any difference in taste. They taste the same but certainly the triangular ones look better and are more convenient to bite into. lol.

Yeah, it's all about presentation isn't it? That's why if you go to a posh expensive restaurant, you expect the food to look good and taste good. A triangular sandwich will not strictly taste better than a square one, but will simply be more of a pleasure to eat.

As your first responder said, the taste isn't changed, but in our minds the sandwiches presented triangular are much more appealing to our senses, therefore causing us to think the food is better. It is so much easier to eat a triangle than a square, too! I have to cut in a triangle whenever I eat a sandwich. Presentation IS everything! Even though it all ends up in the same place!
