Are you?
Well, i've never really thought about this till today. Apparently, my dad forgot to foot the utilities bill and they decided to cut our electricity supply. Thank God they didnt' cut our water supply. I still managed to catch a quick cold bath.
Well, since i only found out about the cut nearing evening, i only had a few hours of "light" to gather my supplies of candles.
Whilst waiting for my dad to "rescue" me from the darkness, i sat in the mist of all my candles and practically stoned. I couldn't do anything. I didn't charge my mobile the day before so it was running on low... my laptop's batt was also low... so i can't do anything but stare at blank space...
Therefore, i've come to conclusion that i'm heavily dependent on electricity. Are you?

Our family is 100% dependent on electricity as well. As a matter of fact, EVERYTHING in our house runs off electricity. A lot of people around here have furnaces and stoves that run off gas, but not us! If the power goes out, we are out of luck!
A couple weeks ago we had a really bad ice storm and the power went out... we we totally unprepared and had to use candles for our morning light. It was REALLY cold outside and I was very thankful that our house didn't cool too much before the power was restored... but we were a little worried! At times like that, we really wish we had a wood-burning fireplace to keep us warm!!!

We all love to think we could live without it, but until it happens, you never really appreciate how dependent you are on it. This last summer, we had a storm that produced 60 mile hr winds. The electricity went out. I knew it. I thought it might be 4 or 5 hours before it came back on. 3 days later, we were all still without power. my girlfriend couldn't stand it. Yes, we had to go traveling everyday to find an area that had electricity and go to a restaurant to eat. And of course, because of the widespread damage, the resgaurants were full. So yes, it's your laptop, your refrigerater, lights, tv. That's what we did too. stare at the walls.

Personally, I think we all are quite dependant on Electricity, and need it as a Big form to live. Most of us consider it our only source to the Internet, to eat, etc. and would not know how to survive without it. We have lost power a couple of times here in yrs. past due to storms, etc. and you can go stir crazy. But since you are posting this here now, it looks like things are better, so wishing you the best from here.

yes, i guess most of us if not everyone are dependent on electricity these days since almost all of the things we use are being operating by electricity. well we can live without it but it will be very difficult. imagine what life will be without it..no cellphones, no tv, no music, no computers and most specially no internet. arghh.. it will be plain and simple and yet miserable for us people who already got use to the world of high technology.
and with the high cost of electricity its a good thing that they are discovering new ways to generate it like solar power and wind mills.

I hate to admit it, but yep, I sure am! My family and I lost power for a few hours the other night and my kids couldn't fall asleep until it went back on, which was around 4 in the morning. Why? Because they are accustomed to sleeping with fans (they are actually air cleaners) at night. As it helps drown the noises from outside, such as cars or planes going by, my husband and I have been using fans for years. Though I blame my husband for he's the one that got us into it in the first place! LOL
We also have a well, so when the power goes out our water does too. Yikes!

Yes,I depend on electricity. All of our things uses electricity except for the candle. Maybe if there's no electricity we would be still like the Flintstones.
