I had a desktop and I found that I was tied down to my room most of the time as I spend a lot of time on my computer, but sitting glued to the computer in a single room can be boring and you can tend to get isolated from teh rest of your family. I decided to buy a laptop and now I am mobirle an dcan sit with the rest fo the family where they are, but now I havr different problem. If i do not respond to the conversation, I keep getting hints to switch off the laptop and at least be mentally present instead of just being physically present. I wonder if sitting in a se[arate room was better than sititng together in one room?

I don't have a lot of money, so I can't buy a laptop. With limited money I can buy a desktop which have better performance than laptop at the same price. I think laptop is not always comfortable. We can bring laptop anywhere we want, but we must keep the laptop from collision. Desktop is not portable, but we can use it for more longer time than laptop. When the temperature was up, what we must doing?

Since I have one laptop and one desktop, I would not trade the desktop and have two laptops. Its nice having one of each because you can only use one computer at a time, and the desktop is more powerful so I can do video editing/encoding and keep it on overnight easier. My laptop is small and doesn't have a dvd burner so I use my desktop for that.

I like my desktop but it's getting old and I can't increase my RAM any further and my Windows Vista crawls like a turtle but I still wouldn't give up my desktop. I am thinking about updating the motherboard so I can use newer RAM. We did get a laptop for Christmas but that's for the rest of the family. I will stick with my desktop. I also like the fact that I have a big monitor, full size keyboard and a mouse instead of a touch pad. We really got the laptop so that I can still blog while my wife and I travel the globe.

I would not want to trade my desktop computer for a laptop computer since my son uses the desktop all the time. What I would really like is to have both. That way I can use the computer while I am in another part of the house and not be stuck down in the basement in the family room. A laptop would come in really handy when I am cooking dinner.

I will not trade my desktop for a laptop. Its better to buy a laptop and keep my desktop. Even though laptop used less space and can bring it anywhere but I don't feel comfortable with laptop keyboard. Besides that I can't play all of my games on laptop. So desktop still the best choice for me.

Well, I don't really care if I had a desktop or a laptop, but either way I'd really have a laptop than a desktop because you can bring the laptop to wherever you want.

I'd definitely prefer a laptop. I hate just having to sit in one room in one place, especially since I'm on my laptop pretty much all the time.

at the moment, i'll say NO. i'll rather have my desktop than a laptop. First off, its easier to upgrade a desktop 'coz the parts are locally available where i am. secondly, i dont travel a lot so i don't really need one.
