People are stressed out by the time they reach their work. People get heart attack while driving to work. If any one experience left arm pain, or left jaw pain, shortness of breath, then call 911 pull over and start coughing vigorously that is how you do CPR to yourself you cannot do chest compression to yourself the only compression you can do is cough.

Yes, If you are all by yourself and driving to work coughing vigorously will work until paramedic arrives. But you should call 911 that is the first thing you need to do and pull over. Sit straight and do not crunch the airways pull the car window down so that you will feel comfortable.

That is some very good advice. I would just like to add that not all heart attacks present themselves with the same symptoms. Women often will have a heart attack with no arm pain at all. The key is if you don't feel right you should get checked out. Don't just assume that it is indigestion or that it will pass. More women die from their first heart attach than men because they dismiss the fact that they are feeling bad.

You're so right, and also women are frequently misdiagnosed or I should say not diagnosed for a heart problem or even a possible heart attack and instead told it's "just stress" and often sent home from the ER. I had a supervisor who had a heart attack at the age of 34 and when she was at the ER she was told "34 year old women don't have heart attacks"! Finally, a doctor paid attention to her and did the necessary tests and she indeed had had a heart attack and it left her heart permanently damaged which may not have happened if she'd have received treatment sooner.

Thanks for posting this valuable advice. Let's hope everyone thinks about it long and hard enough for them to remember it if it ever happens to them instead of simply panicking and forgetting it. Repeat it to yourself and to everyone you know so that if, God forbid, you ever find yourself in that situation coughing comes naturally to you!
