Hey guys! I got a new discussion and this one is: Do you think Mahatma Gandhi was an inspiration? If you do, why was he an inspiration? If you don't why do you think he wasn't an inspiration?
I think he was an inspirational man because he wanted world peace. He fought for something that would save millions of lives from death. Why can't the world find any peace today, or in the past?

He definitely was an inspiration. So many people are still quoting things that he has said, and more are trying to make his dream real. Mother Theresa was also an inspiration.
Who would You name as inspirational leaders today, m0neymaker??

I would name Barrack Obama. I mean he was going to be a lawyer until someone got him into politics. Then he became the Senator of Illinois. Mind you he was one of the African-American politicians. Then he pursued a dream of many people. He ran for President. Well, he was an African-American who risked his life to put the Americans back on track. I would say that is inspirational.

Barrack Obama is very `fresh` and `new` person on the global stage. Still need to see how perfect he is as an example and inspiration for us.
But, yes. Good one. I have heard that he was married only once and still has the same wife, lives in the same house for years, and is pretty modest person while becoming a president.

He did teach us how to love and respect, to be calm and honest, and to follow non violence, and how to live. But do A LOT of us do it? No, we still do what we used to do. Although some may have started to change I have seen that a lot of us haven't.

Yes I think he is an inspiration to all. Once he said, "I would have been a Christian if I had never met one".

Hi guys
Mahatma Ghandhi is an ispiration and will be an ispiration. As a human being it is hard keep patience and faith. He is an inspiration for a person who wanted to fight differently, means without any criticism. Indian should feel proud about him, he fought for others not for himself and set a new benchmark.

That is true. He did fight for others not himself. But if he was helping the Indians from the British doesn't that mean he was helping himself also?

I personally don't see Mahatma Gandhi as a inspiration because He was the only man who made partition of India. If he had not declined the choure-choura moment we would have independence a long time befor. He is the only cause of India-Pakistan dispute that is from a long time.He is the only cause of Indian and Bangladesh dispute also.
Raja RamMohan roy and may great leaders of that time were there but instead he made his friend Jawharlal Nehru as the prime Minister.
He had always oppose the great fighters like Subhash chandra bose and many others at that time who had broke the backbone of the british empire.
NOTE: This is totally My personal view.On the other hand I Liked Mahatma Gandhi as a great leader. But not a inspiration of mine.HE is our National father(Rashtra pita/Bapu) and we should respect him.
