Do you expect people to greet you?

Like on Christmas and New Year, do you expect people to wish you well? I don't-because I don't send out greetings myself! I used to do a mass text messaging on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve but realized that it wasn't really genuine. That everyone else will be sending well wishes, so mine might be overlooked. And I'd rather send a personalized message to a few select people rather than a standard message to everyone on my address book.

I really dont expect to get greetings cause I know that they might be busy or that they cant get enough load credits just to greet all of the people in their friends list. Of course I understand that they gotta prioritize or 'budget' their load, so to speak.
I do try to get enough load or avail of those promos just to greet everyone on my list, just so they know that I havent forgotten them.

Most people do wish me back. If they don't that's okay. I take it easy. I generally say something like "you spoilt brat of an obnoxious creep, didn't your mother teach you to be polite or did the cat get your tongue while you were making out with it"
but never abuse them or something ;)

Wow great discussion,I am the same ,I dont expect a greeting from everyone nor do I send out a greeting to everyone and for the reasons you have given.I just send out to a select set of people and would expect from a select group because I know then I would know that they are genuine.
Thank you for this discussion and I really wish it could reach a wider audience where it can cause a change in the popular trend

Wow thanks for showing your appreciation and support. I actually sent personal messages to friends on my yahoo messenger and to my surprise, a lot of them replied and were genuinely pleased with the greetings. I guess people just tend to send mass text messages that it becomes less meaningful already...

We have the same outlook I guess. But even last Christmas I didn't respond to any of the Christmas greeting I got through text. If you send me a card or an email then I'll definitely say thanks. I also greeted everyone who gave me a present, but that's about it. :)
