Hi all,
I just wanted to know how all of you mark "Best response" for the threads/discussions that you have started?
Being a very choosy writer, i go through lots of discussions before deciding which one to reply to. Hence, I have noticed that most people do not even mark a "Best response"!!! I think everyone must take 2 minutes daily to go through the discussions they have started and award "Best response" tp whoever has replied well to their queries. I always make sure that i do.
Some people just give "Best Response" to the very 1st person to replied to their discussion, which I think is kinda unfair!!
So how do you decide how and to whom to give it to??

For me it`s not easy to choose who deserves "Best response" but I always choose one.I know that no matter who I choose I will make someone happy. The first step that I take is waiting. And I don`t pick 'Best response"until I have at least 3 post under my discussion. If I have only one post after week I choose it "Best response" because I know that my chances to get another are small. Then I start reading all the responses at least one time each and I decide witch one is best and i mark it.If there is more than one post that I think it`s best I just read them for second time and choose. That`s it!HAPPY NEW YEAR!Happy MyLotting!Bye!

That's a great point. That's what I would expect to get "best response". I'm still a newbie here, so I'm learning the ropes, but when I do have the opportunity to give a best response, I will keep that in mind. :)

well... you're right.
normally i give the one who i felt i have benefited the most from. Or one that gave the most sound and reasonable argument and a proper "case" to support his stand the best response.
i'm actually like you rather picky. so i don't give them out freely.

i start a few new discussions, and i know that we can choose one as a best response.but i just have a few responses, and some of them are only a sentence,so when i want to choose,i do not know to choose which.untill now,i just mark one.however, none of my responses is marked.so bad.

yes i agree with you, even i have a few discussions left where i have not yet given the best response to anyone.i usually wait for a few days and sometimes i do it earlier if any response is fascinating to me.whom to give i never see its just the response, also since it doesnt affect the earnings,we can be impartial and choose the most suitable one according to the initiators of the topic.

Hi! I only award the best response to the post which i believe to be the most deserving one that is--- the one who makes sense and the answer that I've been waiting to read.
If there is only one response, i don't mark it as best if i don't see it as response enough.

Today I actually awarded a few best responses. For some discussions, i gave the award to the most interesting response. I think the length of the response helps a lot. Longer doesn't always mean better, but most of the time, when people give more thought in their response, it becomes longer. Sometimes there are short responses that are equally insightful as well but lacking in detail. Before awarding a best response, I wait for the discussion to have at least 10 responses, but if the discussion is months old, then 7 responses will do.

I like to use my good judgment before awarding a best response. I think I will just choose a response that stands out the most to me. I like someone that has something interesting and educational as a part of their input.
Sometimes I will pick something that is kind of humorous just for something different though.

I'm new to mylot (just signed up yesterday), so all this is still new to me. But, I'm glad that I came across this posting, so that I will know to do that in the future on my new discussion postings. Does that entitle you to a rep, or how does that whole rep thing work?
