I found some of the people those who switched off their mobile phone in some of the occations.
- Like when they are in the office meeting..
- Sometimes when are in lunch/dinner
- Sometimes when are going for a long tour
- Sometimes, when they are working in Computers
- Sometimes, when they are busy with any of the important work
- Sometimes, when they study for their examinations.
- Sometimes, when they going to bed/to sleep
Do you think that, is this a right practice?? and out of the above said circumstances..
As for as myself is concern, i never switched off my mobile at any point of time.. even at the night time, when i travel and all the above circumstances..
What about you? will you have this habit of switched off your mobile by any point of time..??
Share you experience..
All the very best to all..

i switch my mobile phone when i am busy with something that is much more important than the mobile phone. like i switch it off when taking my lunch/dinner. i switch it off when i watch a movie in the theatre. i switch it off when i am busy with some client so that my concentration level will be same as it wont distracted by the anonymous caller. but there are also disadvantages to it if someone wants to call you which is much more important than your movie or your food then how you are going to explain it. well there are always pros and cons to every action that we do. we now live in a complex world where you just can't say all the things whether they are only right or wrong. there the complexcity develops in it. because we hvmade ourselfs so complex with this high tech gadgets world...

hi, chennai
i do not think it is a good habit. i have always felt uncomfortable when my cellular phone is turned off. i am always afraid that by a stroke of freaky coincidence i will miss an urgent call. however, during meetings or in class or in places where silence must be maintained, cellphones must be put in silent mode.
happy new year!

Silent mode is not a bad habit.. this is advisabel to keep our phonein silent mode.. even though if we will not able to attend the phone, we will call them later..
Thanks for your response.

Majority of the time i put on silent mode....but if required or asked or if in a meeting and if cell phone is proving to be a nuisance, i do put it off... this is just me... i at a manager level... and have interviewed many new recruits and do find it annoying when someone sitting in an interview does not respect the time of the interviewer and does not even bother to put it onto a silent mode., let alone about switching it off.... also at times if you work on a computer it produces a magnetic disturbance on the screen of the computer the best is to switch it off if you are at your work place and the chances of them getting disturbed with our cell phone is more
thanks

i don't switch off my mobile unless i'm charging it... but most of the time when there is a need for silence (like in the theaters or meeting or in classes, i'd switch my phone to silent.
i think we should all cultivate such habits. It's quite inconsiderate to have your phone ringing non-stop.

Put your phone in a silent mode is the very good practice, especially when you are in the meeting/with crowd admosphire or travelling or with any of the higher officials.

dear friend,
i dont know if its a good habit to turn off our phone in office and meetings... but people will definitely get fired if they dont..
especially in a meeting in front of the boss if our phone rings loudly or we are talking on the phone... we will be in a very embarrassing position.
and of course when they are busy and have important work, they dont want to get disturbed. it depends on individual... if you really dont want to switch off your phone, then its better to keep it in silent mode.. but its definitely not a bad habit...

The above-mentioned cases, whether or not to swithch off their mobile phones is a good habit in a matter of opinion. However, in order to let you concerned about the people who are warried that as far as possible none of the phone seems to be a more appropriate .

I don't think it's the right practice at all. I personally do not turn off my phone unless it's all drained out. Back in the past, i missed lots of important phone calls just because my phone is turned off. It would be understandable if the phone is charging but not when it's charged and working. I don't turn off my phone even at night but i do minimize the volume level of my ringtone. In meetings, i usually set my phone to pager mode, meaning, a discreet volume just enough to get my attention without being scandalous. It's really a good practice if you keep your phone turned on at all times.
