What is the difference between windows original version and pirated version?

the only basic reason of suing the pirated version is the cost... why do you want to use the original version spending so much money when you are getting the pirated version for almost free... there is almost no difference between the two.. if you want to use only microsoft softwares then there might be a little problem.. because downloading from microsoft website.. it will scan and see if your windows is genuine or not... but there are so many good softwares in the net which you can doownload that there is almost no need for those microsoft products... if you want there is another alternative... you can get linux for free.. you can just go to ubuntu website and order the free cds which work great... but it takes some time to understand that.. since we are grown all these years using windows.. thank you.. happy newyear

Hi, High probability got busted during updating with a pirated version. As a result MS locks your access to windows after a certain period. You need to format then. Beside there are cpl of softwares which needs original cd key to download from MS website.

It's always & a best choice to use Original Versions. Why? because: 1) You don't need to worry about any illegalities; 2) You will have a full online support from the Software Developer or Manufacturer in case there would be malfunctions, etc.; 3) You can update online, without worries to be detected for Genuinity, because once you'll be found using pirated softwares, your computer system might: a.) shutdown; b.) malfunction contineously; c.) some features or almost of the features will be blocked; d.) etc... 4) Expensive but worthy; 5) You don't kill the industry; And likewise, you don't promote illegalities. I'm using Windows XP Professional SP2. The original version costs around 275 dollars or if you convert that to philippine currency, that's around PHP 12,225 (13,359 indian rupees). That's already expensive for the average person that's why many computer users opt for the pirated version. The advantage of the original version is that you can get free updates from Microsoft.

There is no difference between and original and pirated in terms of software. But piracy is piracy,microsoft people do very hard work to make one operating system and how we can waste their effort. Piracy is a bad thing and one can go to jail also but here in India there r tons of pirated people. Therefore India has been consider as a gaurdian of piracy. I told everybody to use opensource software and fight against piracy.
