Movie or book?

I'm wondering if it is maybe better to watch movie first and then read book instead of reading book and than watch movie. Recently I watched Twilight (after reading the book) and I expected that movie will be better, I like movie, but It wasn't interesting because of the fact that I new everything already. And of course I know that mostly movies aren't that good as the books on which they are based.
So what do you think, what is better - watch movie or read book at first?:)

We can get full information from book, but only the plot of book we can get in movie.
Maybe the famous stars will make the movie more insteresting than the book, but after watching movies, in your mind there are only the stars' faces. But when you read book, you will find you are in the story and link with the hero of the book.
I will choose read book firstly if I have enough time for it. ^_^
