Is it okay to go out with an old friend?

You have a friend you've known for years(or months at that) to know exactly how many girlfriends/boyfriends he/she(in no particular order) has had. You know more about his/her life than anyone else(or you don't maybe).
And suddenly you feel attracted to him/her. I mean strong undeniable attraction...not the kind that says: ooh nice abs, wow, cool dress or something...the real thing....
Would you go ahead with the relationship or would you tell yourself: no she's not for me.?

Sudden attraction can sometimes be deceiving. It should not be perceived as love at once as love, in my perception, is developed in time through experiences. You said you know this person but how enough is that? How far would you like to go in a relationship with this person? These are the questions that you should ask yourself too before you plunge in. Are you also free currently? Sometimes it's also not good to judge someone because of their past relationships. It's the attitude of the person and his or her values that matter. If you think you are both free, legally and is matched based on values and personalities, and of course, you think the feeling's mutual, then why not try expressing your feelings.

m not talking about judging by past relationships...that was my ways of saying that she's a really close friend. Also, if I've been friends for so long, attraction is obviously not sudden. It has developed over the years and one day you kind of accept that you love her

Hey man, we are all in this world together striving for more or less the same things. To love and be loved, To laugh and...to cry... So I understand the bewilderment/feelings of yours. And I believe you are just beginning, love just like the breeze, you don't know when it sneaks in your heart. Someone are waiting for you. LOL

Hi There! Welcome year 2009! Definitely alright… Old friends can be great lovers you know… why don’t you give it a try… there is no harm in that…. Try to go out with your friend for few dates then see how it goes… at least you will know the answer instead of not allowing yourself to go out with an old friend then asking your self… “what if’s questions”… Goodluck!

I think it is totally okay for you to go out with him/her. I mean lovers start from friends too right? But if he/she seems to shows signs that is negative then it is best to just stay as friends then.
