I am a Chinese, sometimes I am proud of my country, because China is developing faster and faster, but sometimes I am ashamed of my country, because something that is happening in China is the China's shame. Chinese government always claims that they will create a harmonious society in China, I hope I can do something for the ideal creating harmonious society, but in fact I can almost do nothing. What I can do is to hope the government can really keep their promise, but sometimes I am so disappointed with something that is happening in China, for example, everyday I can read news that some government officers are arrested because of the corruption problem, some people even steal the money for disaster victims, aren't they afraid that the God will punish them in the future? In China there are a lot of problems, for examples, the event that a lot of milk manufacturers create the poison milk and milk powder to improve the protein level and sell the poison milk and milk powder to consumer, as a result a lot of people have a serious sickness, a lot is babies, and some babies lost their lives. I don't know what do the manufacturers think about that, I want to ask them why you resort to all means in order to get money, don't you have sons or daughters? don't you have mother or father? Aren't you afraid of the God? most cities in China will forbid beggar begging, because the government think beggars are detrimental to the cities image, but the government can't give a way for making living to beggars. China held the Olympic Games in 2008, for that China spent a big amount of money, do you think China is very rich, do you think Chinese have a lot of money, but do you know a lot of children can't afford to go to school, a lot of needy regions need to be built, and during the Olympics every city stop a lot of business, a lot of people have to afford the loss, for example, my father can't transport the watermelon to the Shenyang, because the big cart is not permitted during the Olympics, so my father lost almost 6000 RMB, and can't get the cost, as a peasant, that means my father lost the whole income in 2008. Maybe some people will benefit from the Olympics, but the disadvantaged groups always pay the cost. The foreigners maybe think China looks good, but do you know? a lot of things are done to be seen by foreigners, when the foreigners leave China, somethings will resume. A lot of foreigners think the Beijing National Stadium "bird's nest" is a miracle, the quality of construction must be no doubt, but do you know? Now "bird's nest" have exposed some little quality problems of construction. In a word, there are a lot of problems in China, food security problem, environment problem, human rights problem, religion problem and so on. Of course, there are still a lot of good things that is happening in China. I just want to ask whether you are satisfied with everything that is happening in your mother country? What do you think what is happening in China, are there some things that you are dissatisfied with in your mother country?

neulichuang, I think in the first place you need to understand that all of us are born different and imperfect. So, we are bound to make mistakes in life and collectively it will be reflected in our community and in turn the country. We all have our own problems both the speakable and unspeakable. Your country has come a long way and it is just tenderly opening up to the rest of the world. Yes, greed, corruption, economical and social problems are all around and it is worldwide. But amidst of all these your government is already making quite a lot of progress already and what you see is just the growing pain stages. As the saying goes: "Rome was not built in a day." So, all of us, no matter how unhappy or unsatisfied will still need to remember to do our part and contribute an effort to improve ourselves, our family and eventually our country. Ask not what your country can do for you but ask yourself what you can do for your country. There is a lot to complain if you really want to but what is the use if we choose not to make an effort to improve it. Now as we face the turbulent financial tsunami, I think all of us just have a part to play and it is certainly not the time to go against the government over micro issues. For China had not relented or given any allowance to the corruptions and greed of the her community, and that itself is no lone feat. Success would not have been possible if it had not been for her citizens. As the famous ancient Confucius once said: "To put the world right in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must first cultivate our personal life; we must first set our hearts right." Happy 2009 and all the best here.

I'm also a students in China. I'm not satisfied with everything in China. Some problems in the political system in China need to be solved or improved. Sometimes life is difficult for common people in China. But it's not case with the goverment officers and some rich bussinessmen. The pollution is serious. The cost to go to college is high. The price of a house in big city is very high, whic means the poor college studens, like me, can never have the opporunities to buy a house after graduation. The cost to go to hospital is also high. It will be a heavy load for a family if there is a patient. The situation is even wore in some poor countryside.
