Do you participate in any competition?

Hi there! Yeah, during my high school days,I always participated in some competitions, track and field, pole vault, quizzes and spelling contests. And I won with prizes. Even this time in my company where I am presently working, sometimes they are sponsoring a quiz contests. And I won 2 times in a row, a first placer in the first year (prize: a Motorola mobile phone)and a second placer in the second year (prize: a ViewSonic 17" LCD Computer Monitor which I am using now).

Wow, that's nice to know. I'm not one who joins competitions because when I join I like to win! Haha! So if I know that I can't win then I won't join anymore. I'm very competitive though so I always benchmark myself against other people not in athletics but in other aspects such as grades, achievements, etc. But I like your attitude. :) Continue joining those competitions even if you don't win!

In my school and college days i always participate in all music competition.My favourite item is classical music.I always enjoy in getting some prize in aay competition.It is a special moment for me.I am not so good in any sports and i like watching all sports.Cricket and football is my favourite game.

I was never a team player as such. I could play baseball and sports like that but I preferred to run. I would run to school, run home, I ran everywhere but never competed in anything. Mainly because I lived on a farm and had to be home right after school to do chores and stuff. Well until I moved to another school when I hit grade 7. I went from a three room school to a 7 room school. Big move and a lot more kids. Well one day we out on the track field during gym class and one of my friends dared me to run against the track team as a joke. I figured I would get in trouble because he wanted me to just start running with them. Well kids being kids and taking dares. I sat there on the grass, but as soon as the running team took off I jumped up and ran right past them and stayed in front all the way to finish line 5 miles away. That led me into a world of hurt for a while. The gym teacher was completely blown away and all he could see was someone to help them win more trophies. He asked me to join the team and I refused because I knew I would never get permission from my foster parents. The teach contacted my foster father and told him what I did, but in a positive way. Unfortunately my father assumed I had done it just to get out of working at home and was furious. To save face with the teacher he agreed to let me join but my life just go a lot harder from that point on. About the best thing that happened because of it was the fact that I was made to get up earlier every day and run 5 miles and again when I came home. Ha, he thought that would make me hate running but it actually gave me the time to be alone and not have to listen to him. BTW: I won everything I entered until I hit high school and got a girlfriend then my interests turned elsewhere.

I remember entering a contest as early as 5 years old. And i won 2nd prize in a singing contest when I was nine. Then during my College years, I was chosen among the freshmen to join a dance group to represent our College Department and we won the 1st place. I also garnered 1st place in a Dance Sport Competition. Most of the contests that I was into are in the literary competitions. There are other more, but can't recall it.

i am not so much into sport ,but usually participate in shortput .I have never won anything in it but have only reached semi-final once in my schools sports day.

I enjoy playing sports and I've participated a few competitions during school, high school and college. In school I participated in a football competition, but I only played in one game, I don't remember if we won that cup... I guess that was in the 5th grade In the third grade I got the third place in a table tennis competition where players from the third and 4th grade were participating. Later, in the last year of high school I participated with the high school's team in a volleyball competition, but we finished 3rd in a group of 4 and didn't qualify for the next round. In the first year of college I played with my faculty's team in a football cup, but we lost in the quarter finals. That same year I missed the University's table tennis cup because I was ill. In the third year of college I participated in the University's badminton Cup, where I finished on the 8th place. That same year I participated in a cross-country competition (didn't win anything...) In the fourth year of college I won the third place in the University Mixt Volleyball Cup, achievement that I'm very proud of! I participated the cross-country competition again (but, again, I didn't win anything...)

when there is competitions then how can be there classes to attend?well i enjoy these competitions rather sitting on the bench. and i dont like to participate in those events. i am a watcher rather than a participator.well its all that personal that i am saying in here. but since someone enjoys participating in all the events then its really good . it will improve his personalities if hes really taking it ina healthy way. otherwise dirty competitions can only meet in fatal accidents.

I was never good with sports, except probably chess, and I don't even think I was that good. I tried joining the chess team in highschool but didn't make the cut. I did win prizes in academic contests and spelling bees in the elementary. Yep, I was once a geek....and I probably still am.... Happy new year.

when i was in high school, i participated in a math contest. i won third place. =)
