Does anyone know the signs of depression and tips on how to handle it. I am looking for information particularly on post partum depression. My daughter has a friend who recently had a baby and she feels like there is something wrong with her friend. I tried to think of some things to look for but I am sure there must be more signs.

depression people always do much more thinking than doing. their thinking time are much more than doing things. encourage them to do more things ,just like cooking , clean~~~spare more time to be with them .leave less time theirselves alone to stop them thinking meaningless things

Sorry it took so long to respond to your comment. It may help for someone who is depressed to focus on other things and maybe get out of the house for awhile.

I have had a slight case of post partum depression but fortunately it didn't turn out to cause a big problem. I know that signs of sadness and some other chemicals in the brain can cause a woman to think irrational thoughts. I feel bad for those that deal with it.

Sorry about the delay in responding to your comment. I have heard a little bit about the chemicals in the brain and how they can become imbalanced. I too went through a rough patch when my daughter was born years ago but it seemed to work itself out.
