new year - happy or sad?

A lot of people have new years resolutions that they hope to achieve over the course of this new year, but who actually thinks they will complete or achieve their resolutions? Do you set impossible goals because you know that you'll never complete them anyways and at the end of the year you can say, " oh well, it was impossible anyways." I know people who do that and I think that it's a sad way to start the new year. Does anyone reading this do that? Be honest now and think about the fact that maybe you do it subconciously ( i can't spell). Are you trying to make yourself happy this new year or are you so sure that you'll be sad anyways that you set impossible goals?

Obviously it depends on you and on your adventurous thoughts as well as on your determinations. Everything must start with some future perspective with prior expectations. Based on the history we set our goal and based on our efficiency we do the commitments.
If I am able to finish my Goal on time or at least finish with some latency the next day, I am very happy and try to take further tougher Goal to make myself more stronger. If not able to finish I learn many things from my failure and gives me my ability to do further work.
Since Past is the backbone I must say I lost many things in 2008, the worst ever year of my life. I am expecting my 2009 to make it much better on the basis of my ability set by nature in 2008.
